Logical move. Mills wouldn't have make that much money in the FA market.

What is noteworthy, is that he did it before the draft, which will allow Spurs to trade him during it. Mills and Spurs have maybe come to the conclusion that the best for him would be to take that money and be traded to a team where he would get more playing time.

And I would be happy to see him staying with Spurs. He can play and has a great at ude which is a very underrated quality in the NBA.
I disagree. Its a very odd decision. Neal is almost certainly returning unless he gets a ludicrous offer. Joseph is likely the backup 2 guard unless otherwise proven. De Colo can legitimately play 2 positions and is 3 inches taller and a more talented passer. Mills almost certainly is returning to be a bench warmer unless injuries crop up or people fall out of the rotation. Not to mention Manu taking up 20-24 mpg at Mills natural position. I though he would have been a lock to return to Australia. Love his at ude though and is only 24 who knows what can happen next season.

Your trade theory is interesting, that makes the most sense. I have a mild su ion that the Spurs are fielding interest in Green. Green + Mills could land another pick in the 20's

Patty Mills will be back with the Spurs next season. The team announced today that Mills exercised his player option for 2013-14.

Patty is great! I love the guy's at ude. I'm happy he is back even if for nothing more than his towel waving and positive at ude. He always picks up his teammates.

    Nando >>>>>>>>>>>> Patty.

    Play Nando, Pop......................

Nando can do it all.... Patty is just a shooter..... And a towel-waver........

I am not opposed to bringing Patty back with his duty being a towel-waver and male cheerleader, but he shouldn't see any minutes unless it's a blowout.

Nando for backup PG......... Play Nando...................

Unless CoJo completely falls off or gets injured, Patty's role will be about the same. Joseph was our best backup PG last year and I'm excited to see how well he improves over the summer summer.

Should have just let him walk, and resign the towel to a three year deal.

Instant offense would have secured that 5 point lead with 2 quick threes, easily.
