I know 18 year olds that are not old enough to know what sex is about
like brodels syas just because you are a certain age it does not make the person ready for sex and old enough to know the results of sex are
so if a kid starts going through puberty when hes 12 then he should have a full beard when hes 14?

Perhaps most would have a difficult time raising kids at 14. But some, with family support, would be O.K. And furthermore, others will do what it takes not to get pregnant.
18 is an artificial line. Until you can convince me that something suddenly happens at age 18 to make people ready for sex, I won't consider it anything other than artificial. We've already established that some people are ready for sex before 18 and other aren't ready until they are 30 and beyond, so 18 really means nothing except that society decided that it would be best to draw the line there. You need to come up with a reason why people become ready at 18 to prove otherwise.
Are they ready for sex on a physical basis? Are they ready for sex emotionally and mentally? I'll argue that there are some 9 year old that are more ready for sex than some 30 year olds. Is it O.K. to have sex with a 17 year old?If it were just about phyiscal ability, then what about guys/girls that go threw puberty early? I know girls that hit puberty at 8, 9 yrs old. I'm talking about sex, not raising a child. It's possible to have sex without become pregnant. While it's always a possibility, you can make it a very, very small one if you want to. A 14 year old would have trouble supporting a child financially. But with families helping, it's possible. And there are many 28 year olds equally unable to support a child financially. We have welfare for that. Again, age doesn't tell the whole story.If they arent ready for the "consequences" of sex, then they are not ready for sex. Name me one 14 yr old that is ready to raise a child, and finish school at the same time???
It hasn't always been the law, and it probably won't always be the law. So the law is nothing but an artificial line drawn by society at any given time. It may accurately reflect certain factors, but the fact that it's changed in the past and will change in the future shows that the law isn't really an accurate measure of right and wrong. It's really only about what people happen to think is right and wrong at any current time.Because thats the law!
What if they are mentally ready for sex and want to choose a mature partner? Again, I ask: what's the difference between a person who is 17 years and 364 days old having sex with an adult and a person who is 18 having sex with an adult? Well, if they are mentaly ready enough for sex, then they should be mentaly "smart" enough to either date someone there age, or wait til they are 18 before they have sex with adults.
Regardless about if someone is ready for sex or not, it is wrong for adults to have sex with children. Period, Point Plank!

I understand what you are saying. Im not talkin about people that are days away from 18. I am talkin about adults taking advantag of children! Pedophile perverts like to use that argument to say that there is nothing wrong with them. But someone that is 17 and 364 days is ALOT different than a 13, 14 yr old.
I am asuming you are an adult male. Do you have any kids? Would you mind if they had sex with adults at age 14?
I am not saying 18 is a magical age. I am saying this teacher has problems if she is sleeping with a middle schooler. It is wrong!

i think if someone who is nearly the boys age in the article then hes more reliable as to how they think and work than older people

I probably would have too at age 14. But it doesnt make it right for the adult to do it. Its still wrong. When I was 14, I would have had sex with an attractive adult. But now, being an adult myself, I know better. Now I realize that it would have been wring for that adult to have sex with me, even if I wanted it. Pedophilia is wrong, regardless of weather the minor wanted to have sex with the pedophile or not. It is wrong, period.

In life, people are given choices. With those choices we must make decisions. The decisions we make determine who we are and what we are about.
The choices are not always easy ones and that is by design.
The young man and the teacher made their decisions and now they must face the consequences.
