Diaw really did get shafted. Dude was getting hyped up for his D on Lebron in the finals, and he can't even crack 70?

The gameplay looks awesome, but the ratings are pretty .

that's because his box score stats aren't that great.

well that looks the same. I guess on the new gen consoles it will look a lot better. But they could already make better graphics for PC.

Neither are Iman Shumpert's or Eric Bledsoe's and they're both over 80.

because they're athletic and Bledsoe's per 36/advanced stats are eye-popping.

Is it worth upgrading to 2k14 if I already have 2k13?

I've played 6gms online. An I can promise you this, the ratings for the Spurs are on point. Knock down threes in the middle of the gm, but when the gm is on the line, the miss. Lol cant get a rebound to save a life. But perimeter defense is on point. I play onball defense, so im tryna learn to be great at it. But I see flaws in the gm, but overall I think its well work it this yr. Might be the best 2k ever made if you ask me. Its hard to do a pullup jumper around the freethrow line for me. I cant see me playin with anyone else besides the Spurs either.

Everyone likes playing with Golden State. Almost everyone on their roster is an A or above in three point shooting. lol

I think Timmy is obviously a few points low. I would think after last year he would be low 90's high 80's. Parker should be right around there as well, especially seeing how a whole slew or PG's are high 80's and low 90's who Parker is clearly better than. Manu is probably a little to high tbh. Other than that the only real problem I see is Marco being so low. I would think he would be around 77-80. W/E though. I still want this game.

Marco was real low last year too, 65 or so iirc. I think his stats marginally improved this year.

For those complaining about the ratings, here's a pretty good explanation of why they are what they are:

Danny Green's value in real life is much more than a 70-72 or whatever he was rated. his three point shooting is invaluable and his defense is pretty top notch. However, his lack of other skills keeps him grounded at where he is. It's the same reason why Dirk was never properly rated, even after his incredible finals run. He simply doesn't have the overall game that 2k accounts for when they put together ratings. Manu, on the other hand, though obviously not the player Dirk is, has such a high rating because he's able to do a little of everything and it's why he's able to stay on par with Parker's rating. Parker can't shoot, but Manu can. Manu is a superior rebounder and passer as well along with being a solid defender. The game doesn't account for turnover rate and things like that, so the game has no formula to really lower Manu's rating. It's why big men get shafted for the most part.

Suffice it to say, if your really athletic and can shoot the 3 well you'll be in the upper 80's

I got it yesterday and it really looks like 2k13 vol.2. I do like that you can finally block a shot, but some of those dunk blocks are just ridiculous. I just had 6 blocks with Manu and he was blocking Blake Griffin dunk attempts like it was nothing. The second thing I kinda like is that they improved layups. Attacking the basket now looks smooth and the players don't look like they get hit by an invisible wall. I don't like the new dribble system. I don't know why could't they just let it as it was. Now I have to gently press the right stick button and sometimes I up so the player goes into shooting motion. The graphics are the same and so is the presentation. Now after all this ing I still think it's a good game, but it's not really an improvement over 2k13. Can't wait to play NBA Live, man that will probably be pathetic.

Good piece of solid feedback. I'm not positive I'll buy. I'm a huge fan of the series, going back to the dreamcast. I was really bummed however when they switched and added the left trigger to shoot, a couple years back.... I wish they'd work on the damn crowd animations, instead. I'd love a game where the crowd acts 100% realistic to in game play. Its never come close to being done. Hopefully next gen?

    I can't agree with that T_R.
Yeah it looks like it's close but a bunch of things differ.
Presentation : sounds during games are totally different with crowd chants, real arena musics and more realistic crowds.
Graphics? come on don't tell me you didn't see the nextgen trailer =)
Gameplay I agree about the dribbles. I liked the old controls. Everything else is cool. All the new animations are way smoother. I like the collision system that drastically changes defense and floor spacing.

I did say that the game's graphics will probably look awesome on new gen consoles. I can't wait to see that. But on PS3, 360 and PC it still looks the same. I know they couldn't really improve the graphics on PS and Xbox but they could have on PC. All those trailers for nex gen on E3 were shown on a PC.
I also said that it's a good game. It just feels smoother than the last one. But the controls kinda ed it up for me. I will learn them, but why change a pretty good system. Hope next year they won't do it again.

My roommate is getting a PS4, so I think that I'll hold out until that comes out and get the next gen 2k14.

If people say "Parker can't shoot" enough, maybe it'll be the case. He's one of the most dangerous pull up shooters in the league ... no idea how a guy like Westbrook (who shoots 10% lower from the floor) gets rated well above him outside of his freakish athleticism.

    Starting 5 for me.
    Tony
Bellinili (for his mid range gm & 3s)
    Leonard
    Bonner
    Duncan
2nd unit has to be. Strong too so.
    Mills
    Ginobili
    Green
    Diaw
    Tiago
Then I have a good defensive small ball lineup
    Tony
    Ginobili
    Green
    Leonard
    Duncan.

I've only played 2k13 before but I bought this the other day and i swore it was just like someone copy and pasted a few new intro movies/colored things blue and added new music. I guess some technical changes happened but jeez wasn't expecting the exact same menus and everything else again. Even the commentating from the get go had the same lines I noticed in the rookie showcase thing. Blah.

Hating on the fact Tim isn't in the 90s too.
