I'm not defending Phil but the majority of coaches who have gone to the Finals and won haven't built it from scratch either.

- He drafted Pippen

- He drafted Horace Grant, then traded Oakley to get Cartwright (MJ was mad )

- He is the one who wanted Phil and Tex

- He got Kukoc, the best Euro player at the time, but oh no, Pippen was insulted and MJ didnt believe a white Euro could play in the NBA ........ those 2 gots felt they needed to make a statement game in Barcelona ...... then Kukoc made 3 clutch shots in the 1st MJ-less regular season ... then in the playoffs he saved the Bulls's asses in a playoff game vs Knicks with a buzzer beater (Pippen was mad again because Phil drew a play for Kukoc )......people said the 96-98 Bulls' bench was the best .... Kukoc WAS the bench ... I guess MJ and Pip can go suck his



Having said that, I agree with those saying that we would have won more les with Phil ..... Phil would have never benched Duncan at the end of game 6

some insightful truth IEDs from lefty. even though I agree about Jackson not pulling Duncan, I can't see Jackson getting this far with a team where the franchise player is at Duncan's age and not playing major minutes.
