What kind of HS league did you play in? HS season is only 3 months. And most HS leagues have 2 games a week. And the practices aren't tough if everyone is rotating in and the sprinting isn't anything serious.......

Well if his knee is that messed up, it doesn't really matter how long the season/practice was. He probably just can't play for any sort of extended minutes without being in pain or risking further damage.

This thread is awesome. Ginobili_is_god is going to save his money to buy a stretching machine or something now. He always thought he was the tallest guy on the forum.
I think he reminds us how tall he is in every topic!

Look at CWebb, Penny, and Allan Houston. They are in great shape but still arent the same. Meniscus is extremely painful. It also depends on how bad you tear it.
They didn't just tear their meniscus. They needed microfracture surgery. No one ever really is the same if they need that.

If you just tear your meniscus, it's normally fixed with simple arthroscopic surgery and you are back on the court very soon.

He tore something I think, not sure what. He would know, but I think he went to bed or sumthin. Its not too bad I dont think. He just didnt like the pain. I hope he doesnt get mad at me for sharing, but it was a combination of stuff. Not just his knee, but his grades, his mom, and other stuff that I wont get into. But he is not like crippled or anything. He wasnt a superstar either mind you, just average. I think he was aware that he wouldnt be in the NBA anytime soon.

(Hope he doesnt kick my @$$ for sharin that stuff)

if u have a ed up knee it is. U must have been on an easy team. try varsity at a good school, then say its easy. for my school, we conditioned 5 days a week for 3 months straight (before even touching a basketball). We averaged running around 6-8 miles a day. it was the hardest thing ive ever done
Then your Varisty must have been a contender for State Championship. Varsity at YVHS it's usually the from September down to middle of October Open Gym starts and after that the Head Var Coach picks who comes to condintioning meetings and the most is a two mile run with some sprinting and calesthenics. VAR here only practices Mon, Wensday, Thursday and if the coach is pissed he might have some night practices. But that's about it. And the team was pretty good too.

Well if his knee is that messed up, it doesn't really matter how long the season/practice was. He probably just can't play for any sort of extended minutes without being in pain or risking further damage.
Well if he had a whole year to rehabilitate I don't know why it would be so hard not for him to play again on HS level unless if he didn't really have the time then I understand, I've seen some good players get injured and just don't try anymore for reasons unknown.

I focused on year round volleyball instead.
The only guys at my high school that focused on volleyball year round were the ones that focused on year around.

Yeah, a 6'8 full-time vollyball player with coordination and decent hands would have made him a All-City tight-end in SA, and that's not playing football (if you get my drift).

    I am 5'5.
I am 1 inch taller than my husband.
However.. he thinks he's 5'5 and can't be told different.. even if you measure him and it reads 5'4 - he says you did it wrong.
    So...... I tell people I'm 5'6.

I would take a beating in football. Never tried playing. I only weigh 197. And cannot catch a football under that much pressure, especially knowing I am gonna be pounded into the ground.
