It'd be a great trade for Dallas, for obvious reasons. Calderon is a decent PG but in a simplistic system of offense like the one Mavs use, his impact is severely limited due to his lack of attacking ability as an individual, so more often than not he's used as a shooter with Monta Ellis being the real PG on court, like how it is often shown by their assist numbers. Whereas, he would be a good fit for the Spurs rotation and a solid backup for MVPatty Mills, and his lack of athleticism would be no issue on the Spurs squad where the most athletic player barring Leonard is who? And the proposed acquisition of Dalembert would significantly strengthen the Spurs' paint, at the very least the Spurs wouldn't need to play scrubs like Baynes and Ayres to extensive minutes in the event anyone of their best 3 bigs (Duncan, Diaw, Splitter) should go down with injury.
