I bet $100 Manu did not say it or at the most it was a joke. It's not his style.

And believe me, Billy boy, he is not scared of Raja. That's for sure.

Ginobili, who has the same agent as Bell, Herb Rudoy, complained to Rudoy when he learned that his defensive nemesis was going to a team that San Antonio met in the Western Conference finals.

"It was funny," Bell said. "You know, Manu's a compe or, and I do a good job, I'd like to say, on him, but he's a tough guard for me. So it's just a respect level. It's cool to hear somebody thinks you're that way, especially being the All-Star that he is, so it was flattering."

Now they're all saying it.. Weeeeee.
    The play is called:

"The need to sell tickets when your team looked like favourites back in March, but got their asses kicked by the Spurs in the playoffs".

The Spurs did the same thing with Brent Barry after the Hedo disaster in the playoffs. It turned out that the replacement for Hedo was right there for the Spurs (Manu).

IU am not just talking about manu
I am talking about all spurs players

    they are not all saints

I think very highly of manu
I just think he is good for 30 minutes a game
    nothing wrong with that
he plays very well for those minutes
and is more effective in those minutes then most at 40 minutes a game
It's amazing the length ducks goes to put Manu down.

As far as "Dallas..yeah right," this year's Mavs team gave the Johnson-less Suns all they wanted in the Conference semis, tying that series up 2-2. It also took 2 overtimes and a career performance from Nash to avoid going behind 3-2, so I wouldn't be so quick to brush them off.
That's right, Johnson LESS. Yet the Suns still won.

MAYBE if Diaper has a break out season. And MAYBE if Dirk stops yelling at teammates. And MAYBE if Dirk doesn't mind being the last head of the "3-headed" monster. And MAYBE if Terry has an all-star season. And MAYBE if they want to play defense.

Dallas will be 3rd in the division.

Right, my point was Dallas gave the Suns a good series without Johnson, whom they won't have this season. Dismissing a team that went 2-3 against Phoenix under those cir stances as a "yeah right" doesn't quite fit.

Maybe if they play defense...ironic coming from a Suns fan. Stoudemire might be working on his defense, and I believe he is, as he's one of the best players in the league. But he should really try to talk the MVP into joining him. Nash got lit up to the tune of 20 ppg by Tony Parker in the Conference Finals. Jason Terry averaged 17 a game against Nash, five more than his season average.

I agree with that last point. Dallas likely will finish third in the division, but that should be enough to make them fourth best team in the conference.

Why are Phoenix fans y? They have no reason to be. They think Bell on Manu is a good thing, they are delusional.

So Manu is unhappy that a defender that consistently roughs him up and commits flagrant fouls and such is going to one of the Spurs so called "rivals". Tim Duncan was probably feeling the same when Karl Malone joined the Lakers. So what? I'm sure Manu isn't worried about Raja defending him successfully, because we have all seen the stats Manu puts up againt Raja. I'm sure Manu isn't worried about having to defend Bell either, because we all know offensively he is average. So there is no problem regarding Manu being worried about facing him, Manu would have a much tougher time being efficient and playing his own game against other Phoenix swingmen, because Bell sure as does nothing to stop him.

Phoenix fans think that having Raja supposedly "annoy" and "rough up" Manu is going to somehow work to there advantage? Um, check out what happened in the playoffs when Denver and Seattle were consistently dropping Manu on the ground. Yeah, didn't really work out to well for them, and if Phoenix think they can do that with there team of softies and one rough player, they are kidding themselves.

Phoenix fans think Raja Bell is going to turn them into a Top 7-8 defensive team. Idiots.

No, it's the fact that so many SPURS fans on this board laughed and said it was a joke and Manu would NEVER do anything like that. Now it's fact and they're all trying to come up with excuses.

No Suns fan that i know of ever said that. Stop assuming. He will make them better defensively in general. Not Detroit good, but better.

You mean a "fact" like some dork Phoenix rider taking a joke out of context and turning it into some sort of Manu being afraid post?

, if anything I would say this guarantees the Spurs will not lose to Phoenix again as long as Raja and Manu play for their respective teams.

True or false, Manu will be out to make this myth and Raja Bell's jock strap shredded to pieces.

    Agreed.

Hilarious a phoenix hack, and phoenix homer are latching on to this.

Phoenix gets worse this offseason but yet, they think they are better.

    Classic Phoenix...

Rider? Like a cowboy or something. And it was a SanAnt WRITER that started the whole thing.

I think we need to have a little wager about Manu vs the Great Raja. How many points and FG% do you say the Manu stopper is going to hold Ginobili to BillsCarnage?

Likely? You stupid . Too much of a ing homer to even put over the team that nearly swept you by one game and went on to win a le.

I guess Bell and Thomas... oh and Diaw just put you guys over the top?

Get the off this board and back to the ponds that is any Suns forum.

Yeah, it's totally out of the realm of possibility, as evidence by the Spurs-Suns matchup in the playoffs.

rider/writer. Sorry, didn't mean to offend the spelling police. I was laughing too hard your spankfest over a quote taken out of context.

I know the original quote came from our paper, but like I said - some Phoenix hack took it out of context.

On second thought, you can have your lame ass quote. I'll take the championships. Deal?

Damn, life must suck to be a Suns fan. All you guys have to hang your hat on is taking quotes out of context. We're coming off our third river parade, and you are stuck beating off to some weak smack from your local rag of a paper.

    Yay, go suns.

Ask again when the season is closer.. No way we'll remember it now. In fact ask before the first game between the two teams.

And if Bell puts up the same #'s as Manu will it be a draw?

If Bell puts up the same numbers as Manu we'll call it a landslide victory and monumental upset for the Suns.

Spelling police? It's completely the wrong use of the word. You should have learned that in 1st grade.

I know the original quote came from our paper, but like I said - some Phoenix hack took it out of context.
It was confirmed by one of the three involved, the radio station and ESPN. So far NO ONE from Manu's side has denied it. If they ever do, please post a link.

The whoopin was for all of the homers here who said it was a joke. Now it's been verified by three SEPERAT parties.
