I think it gets complicated if a graduate transfer wants to stay in conference, and Tech doesn't want to see him at UT or TCU.
I'll post anything I see.
no doubt Tech would block a transfer to conference schools if they could.
I feel bad enough for Brewer that I almost don't mind him going to Austin or Ft Worth

Apparently this is the issue*A month later, after the bowl game, Brewer followed suit. He plans to stay at Texas Tech and earn his degree during the spring semester and transfer. He will be eligible to play immediately as long as he enrolls at a university that offers a graduate program that Texas Tech does not, per NCAA rules.

Nah but it does make sense to come in and make fun of someone who thought 3 QBs transferring in one off-season was no big deal.
It is a big deal, but even if Mahomes plays baseball instead of football leaving Tech with just Webb on scholarship, I'm still not terribly concerned.
