Watkins in Buffalo pretty much signaled his end. Always liked Stevie Johnson. Another slot threat for SF....great with the long ball, too. Should do better with CK7(≈1,000 yds)...EJ was pretty meh. came home...
Stevie Johnson for a 2015 pick...hmmmm not worth the money in my eyes..

Solid pick up tbh, they needed another deep threat. Haven't seen much of him tho, is he pretty quick? Niners need more speed at WR imo.
Boldin, Crabtree and Johnson. Pretty decent receiving corps...can't forget about Vernon, too. Let's see what Lloyd still has in the tank given that the brud is 33 yrs old.
4.5-4.6 range in speed when he came out--not sure what it is now with injuries this past season. Dropped a boatload of passes and that may cost the 49ers in key moments. Was pretty good the 2 years prior and didn't have a QB that is decent like he will have in SF. There are a ton of ego in that wr corps so it'll be interesting to see how they keep Johnson, Crabtree, Davis, and Boldin satisfied. I would guess Crabtree is 1st, Bolding edges 2nd as the slot and possession wr, and Johnson is 3rd as the outside leftside receiver. Kaepernick has no excuses to not force a throw into Crabtree during the playoffs.
Kraep will find a way to it up unfortunately. Wish they still had Jesus McCoy as a safety net.
Tahj Boyd is still on the boards...is he worth a 4th or 5th if he makes it that far in?
No, I'm giving Gabbert a go. He's actually younger than Kaepernick

SF just got Denver's 4th-round pick in 2015...so WR Stevie Johnson is coming to 49ers for free.
I'd rather they go out and find a competent vet QB. No idea whose out there tho.
Ward better pan out as the nickle corner this season because we got a lot of questionable CBs late. Reaser won't even play this season
some copy-pastes off rotoworld:
Aldon Smith - LB - 49ers
49ers OLB Aldon Smith pleaded "no contest" to three felony weapons charges and misdemeanor DUI on Wednesday.
Smith is apparently ready to accept his punishment and get back to football. His sentencing hearing is set for July 25, the week the 49ers report to training camp. The weapons charges stem from a July 2012 incident at Smith's home, when he threw a party and shots were fired -- not by Smith himself -- that hit two partygoers. Smith's DUI arrest happened last September. He faces a maximum of four years and four months in prison. This paves the way for either the team or NFL to hand down a suspension. Smith will likely miss multiple games. He also has the misdemeanor LAX "bomb threat" incident left on his plate.

Aldon Smith - LB - 49ers
USA Today's Tom Pelissero confirms it's a "matter of when, and for how long," Aldon Smith will be suspended following Wednesday's no contest pleas to three felony weapons charges, and DUI.
Pelissero expects the NFL to "come down hard," noting that alcohol and guns "are two of the league's hot-button issues." Pelissero compares the situation to that of ex-Bears DT Tank Johnson, who was suspended eight games in 2007 following a weapons charge. The totality and repeated nature of Smith's transgressions are worse than what Johnson did. Eight games would be nice.

Welp, Niners continue to "decline" unfortunately. At least the FO is competent again so maybe the team won't fade to obscurity again.
didnt they try to trade harbaugh?
Browns tried to trade all their draft picks but the Niners declined iirc.

This was no surprise. Putting our fan support aside, does such an individual not deserve to do some time behind bars? Imagine living in a community full of people like Aldon.
Anyway, this was expected. He'll miss less than 6 games, putting into consideration the games he already sat last season. But this does put winning the Division with Aldon/Bowman out & such a young secondary quite difficult.
, with all the improvements of St Louis and Arizona on top of how good the division was to begin with, I think we'll have to seriously consider the possibility of the Niners missing the playoffs altogether.
Kaepernick will have to make a significant jump in his play from within the pocket. If not, you franchise tag him next season and draft a replacement.
Glenn Dorsey out for season

Excellent news.![]()
That D is going to struggle. With the head Bowman and vital Dorsey out, it's going to have to rely on a re-constructed secondary and Patrick Willis. Justin Smith is a year older so it'll be interesting to see how they manage.
Det WR core though...
Their offense is going to be awesome. However, their D is going to be suspect as opposite as it were the past few years. I think they're still the 2nd best team in the NFL West, but they're not going to be dominant on D during the first half of the season.
