    Lakers.

Gets paid a but load yet still holds the organization hostage. They should have just paid him to leave
That might end up happening. If Phil is in NY, Kobe for Melo might happen. Melo isn't going to take anyone to the promised land, but Phil has the power to get more help in NY and if the Lakers can dump Kobe for Melo, Phil can dump Melo and retire Kobe to some ty minutes in meaningless moments or just waive him after it's obvious he cannot play the game. Or maybe Kobe can play and becomes a decent spot up shooter. Either way, Lebron is a free agent after this year and I halfway expect some major movement in the league. The Lakers won't remain useless for long, too much money involved so other teams will collude to get the excitement back into LA where their profit sharing money originates.

I don't see Phil doing that tbh...

It was hard enough for him to deal with Kobe while he was actually good...now its just Kobe's inflated ego minus any skill or talent.

Also, I think the Knicks brought Phill in so they could keep Melo, in a sad attempt to illustrate that they aren't a complete joke of a franchise.

^Though Phil did come back, hat-in-hand---tail tucked asking for a hand down from Kobe. Kobe, being the bigger man than Phil granted upon him.
The Lakers had to beg Phil to come back by making him the highest paid coach in NBA history. Don't be purposely obtuse

No. He got clearance thru Kobe, who signed off on it.

Nah, i think it was Jerry Buss who wanted him traded for Nowitzki. Cuban declined but Avery was all ears.

Kobe doesn't write up the coach's contracts or make the hires. That was Jerry.

With money as an underlying goal, trades and moves might not make compe ive sense, but there's a method to it. We've seen plenty of trades that seemed to be brain farts and never once have we seen the books where money gets transferred.

There ain't one coach (legitimately available) any better than what they have. Nary a one.

Lakers should have never let Clifford go, he's done an excellent job in Charlotte especially defensively....

Teaming one loser (Coach D) with another loser (Achilles) makes a lick of sense. Look at the results. The don't lie.

    Absolutely.

Big shots. Duncan ended up getting outed by his wife who had agreed to an arrangement then reneged and sold Tim's sexual ass out.

    High & mighty big shots.
