No, Kobe who is God still has faith in his team and he won't quit on them (not before he gets the final 25m paycheck in 2016 at least).

I guarantee that it's not Kobe's call on this. The management said "sit yo ass down, we can't be tanking with you on the floor, it will ruin our product".

Yeah that's quitting on the team, but there's really no point for him to play anymore this season when the Lakers are this bad. He doesn't have much longevity so while being selfish, it is wise for him to save his mileage from futility

So Kirby "doesn't talk to guys on teams 20 games under .500" but has no compunction quitting on them? I wonder if he'll even show up at Staples tonight to watch the best team in the league stomp the out of "his" team. Pathetic sociopath.

    this.

guy is a rapist and a sociopath, which is usually the same thing. Plus he's just overrated. I can't believe Laker fans worship this clown.

okay well may not worship. I just hope Spurs never get a guy like him where I'm forced to defend raping and chucking. Enrique is enough.

It's World Golf Tour (WGT). It's free and a fine platform. Just a blast. I'm {Culburn}. I'm not worth a tinker's dam compared to Splits, but, it's still great fun. You can upgrade your equipment thru their Pro Shop.

Non-issue son. I'm glad he is shutting it down. No use on jeopardizing our $48M investment unecessarily. Even if he played, and we won the rest of our games, we're still not going to the playoffs. So what's the point in having him play?

    Losing is WINNING.

I'm really surprised Kobe doesn't come back. It's not like he'd hurt the Lakers lottery chances, since he's no longer an impact player and would get torched on defense like the rest of the scrubs on the Lakers.

He could come back, average a quiet 18-20 points a game and move up on the all-time scoring list, which I know is important to him.

I think he quit because he doesn't want yet another "failure to make the playoffs" on his resume.
