It's safe to assume the Spurs are well aware of 2012, Timmy said as much in post game interview, he asserted they would come out focused for game 3
This is nothing like 2012. The Spurs did look great in the first two games that year, but something happened in game 2 that changed the series: Hack-a-Splitter. Tiago was a huge part of our success for the first game and a half of that series. The pick and roll with Manu was killing the Thunder. They started hacking him in the second half of game 2, and he was basically taken out of the series. Combined with Sefolosha and Ibaka bending Parker over, it was lights out from that point on.
Hack-a-Splitter won't work this time around. Sefolosha is not as good as he was, and Ibaka is gone. The Spurs are also a much better team than they were in 2012. Can the Thunder win? Of course they can. Its not over til its over. Let's not pretend it wouldn't take a miracle for it to happen though.

Spurs gotta get that split finish this off in 5
This Thunder team is not as good. This Spurs is a lot different to, that 2012 team was mostly an offensive team while this team plays good defense.
+52 actually![]()
They will, don't worry. I'm thinking we win Game 3, around and drop Game 4, and close them out back in SA with another blowout win. Basically the same deal as in the Portland series.
you are delusional. The Thunder damn near came close to winning Game 2 that year and you could just feel like they figured it out heading back to OKC. They look downright JV compared to the Spurs right now. No Harden, no Ibaka, no way.
No it doesn't. They're missing Harden and Ibaka.
Pop was imploring, beseeching his team to get "some nasty" to just to hold on to home court advantage in '12.
Pop was desperate to hold off what he saw coming from an athletic force of nature. There were no beat downs by the Spurs back then.
Things can turn on a dime, but barring catastrophic injury, I don't see this going past five (likely a sweep if they want it bad enough -- see Portland).
Nope. I'd suggest you look at something other than the final score of each game. The first three games have been much different.
