    I feel Duncan has always been the better player than Lebron and Kobe, that's in terms of value and ranking even before winning this year. Capturing his 5th le did not make him a better player but my admiration for him continues to grow. He's a rare breed, one that truly puts his team above personal accolades. I don't like going in-depth with rankings since there are far too many variables but Duncan is right there with Magic and Kareem, both looking up at MJ.

    Lebron despite of his failures can still move up. Kobe too, though his chances are fairly slim to none.

    While I agree with this list mostly, let's expand the question to, "how long was Duncan a top 2-3 player?" "top 5?". I think Duncan was top 5 from 1998 until 2007. And top 1-3 from 2000-2004.

    Being the definitive top player was mostly just in the early to mid 2000s, until the knee issue started to get the better of him.
