Parker's best season was 2013, and you could argue that season was definitely better than any of CP3's seasons...
from the other Chris Paul thread
i was at the Spurs Clippers game a season ago soon after the all-star break, when Parker just crushed Paul, and i think CP3 ended up with 4 points, 5 fouls. Parker was an MVP caliber player for 2 seasons, but he was also surrounded by a heck of a cast. He wasn't quite as good this past season (though it might be due to being worn down/beat up, i don't know), and was never anywhere near that level before, imo. Paul has been considered the best or top 2 point guard basically since his 2nd season
Well you picked probably his worst season to make that comparison. I'd argue TP has a couple season better than CP3 but overall CP3 obviously is statistically better. He is also a renowned choker who has failed to lead his team past the 2nd round in a decade despite being the "best PG" in the league. And he has had some pretty good teams, especially recently. His Game 5 choke was incredibly pathetic.
But I didn't say Parker's argument was the best. Just that I can see why someone would make an argument for either 3 of them.
fine, take TP's 2005 campaign... it still doesn't hold a candle to pretty much any CP3 season. i love Tony, he's one of the greatest Spurs of all time, so i'm not here trying to bash him, but i'm being realistic in regards to what he's done compared to Paul
I don't really see how T-Mac or Yao were chokers.
Paul is labeled a choker for no reason. He is the best ln that list.
Clippers were nothing before Paul got there. Absolutely nothing. He changed that culture, but is criticized for not leading them to a le in just 3 seasons without a le contending roster..![]()
I don't see how Gerald Green is better than Kawhi Leonard, but apparently you do.
All true but once again not picking great seasons. His 2007 season is definitely better than a couple of Pauls and the last two seasons minus 2014 he's been on par with or better than him. Like I said I'm not saying that Parker is the best but I'm saying he's in the discussion and I can see how an argument can be made for either of them.
IMO it's Nash overall
For me it's between Nash and Paul, leaning towards Paul. Parker was only an elite NBA player for about 2 seasons. maybe with a summer off he can bounce back though.
Parker has made 0 all nba 1st teams btw.. That stat simply cannot be underrated when it comes to evaluating individual players. Paul has 4.
No, Blake changed the culture... Choke just sucks up all the cap space and credit....
It's Choke's own fault that this isn't a le-contending roster, as he refused to take even a penny less than the max.... hard to improve the team too much when a choker is making $107 mil....
lol taking my blatantly obvious troll post seriously
Thinking Phillip is lefty
i dont think philip is lefty... was referring to the "oh i was trolling" shtick
You got out-Philo'd, deal with it![]()
Paul and Nash are just far better players than Kidd and Parker, tbh, it isn't even particularly close..
Kidd is one of the 5 most overrated players in NBA history, tbh..
I agree that Paul and Nash > Parker, but where do you stack Parker's 2012-2013 in a bubble?
