You are this ing stupid, holy .
Buffalo Trace is one of the best at it's price point.

TBH I've not tried any of the Van Winkle line because I've never seen it for retail and I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to some got third party that bought it and trippled the price to make a buck. I've had plenty of Weller though. Weller 12 used to be my go to wheater before it disappeared off shelves. That stuff is $20 a bottle. Pappy is made from the exact same whiskey. Now I don't doubt that special barrel selection and more age makes a difference, but is it worth that much more?
Pappy has this following because it has been reviewed favorably by the "right" people and it's hard to find. There's plenty of readily available bourbons with a much nicer price tag. Let the snobs fight over the Pappy.
Evan Williams bottled in bond (white label) is a damn fine drink for it's price, around 12 bucks around here. The green label is 80 proof iirc... not worth anything except for mixing.
Anyone have thoughts of a Kirschwasser?
I know this girl who loves brandy. Should I get it?
I tried it over the weekend. I didn't like it.![]()
Kirsch is cherry right? I prefer slivovitz which is plum. I have some wonderful homemade slivovitz my friends smuggled out of Bosnia in water bottles, but the best brand I've bought in the states is "Navip Klekovaca" with whole juniper berries in the bottle.
Thanks. I'm going to pick a Slivovitz up today. That price for 8 year old... Don't know about the Cherry now, none show aging. Any thoughts?

I've been imbibing on Malibu Black and Disarrono lately. Jameson if I know the night is going to go long. Went to Ghost Ship in The City for Halloween, and was cranking until 5 am. That was mostly Captain. The sugar from rum keeps me awake.![]()
Not a liquor, but ever try Kriek or Framboise?

I've had an occasional lambic, again not a big fan of cherries or other berries, so it was most likely pomme. Lambics are fruity enough but I like a bit more carbonation, I tend to prefer a hard cider for less sweet fruit and much more fizz.
Not bad in price here in Portland. $27.50 for 750 ml. Maybe I'll get one some time.
I only like them if they are part of the fermentation process. But added after distillation...
NO!
I'll mix my own flavors.
Framboise is sneaky. You might see fruit beer and wave it off but some range from 10% to 13% and can mask its potency with the fruit taste. I like the iambics and the English version of the Framboise just as much as the Belgian version. Also, you can entice the ladies to drink those and they'll loosen up faster in conversation.
My purchases today, just under $200:

Ooops...
I did a closeup of the Unaged Jack, here is the Parker's:

Wild Cobra, I want to party with you cowboy.
I remember in 2006 or so seeing bottles of Old Rip Van Winkle collecting dust on the shelf at most liquor stores in Dallas. I'd heard good things and always planned to buy a bottle but never did.If I only knew how overhypd it would get.
At the risk of being called a hipster, this is my go to bourbon right here:

LOL...
Let me know if you're in Portland and I'll consider it.
When I get around to uncapping it.
Maybe today, maybe never.
I do not plan on uncapping the Unaged Jack, That's a batch 001, and I want to keep it intact. Though I think I'll go back and buy a second one.
Well, I bought two more of the Unaged Jack. Don't know if it's true, but the guy at the liquor store said they no longer make it, that the state shut them down. They now have a "rested" Tennessee rye which apparently the first batch is the remains of the unaged.
Anyone know? Quick searched lead me to believe the unaged was both released and discontinued in 2013. I wonder if there is a batch 002.
Anyway, I bought the only two on the shelf, and going to another store. I came back home to search which stores still had some in stock. For now, I'm only going to buy another two then I'll have five. I'll open one, and let the other four sit for possible future profit.
Going to buy one or more "rested" as well.
Lol gay.
I don't drink because I'm not boring as . I don't need liquor to have a good time.
I didn't know that codeword was for gays. However, since you do...
