The reasons for NY making the trade are obvious. They're going nowhere, so they may as well clear cap space and add a draft pick.

For OKC, it's an admission that they won't be able to keep Jackson this summer, so they're getting a replacement that has an additional year on his rookie contract.

For the Cavs, I have no idea what they're doing there.

The same thing they were doing that made LeBron leave the first time tbh.

Waiters is being moved because he wouldn't swallow his pride and come off the bench... he's cancerous like that. Hopefully he starts pouting in OKC too...
Well, that and he's a ty player with a garbage jumpshot. Can't believe all Cleveland could get is 3-years-ago-version-of-Lin in Shumpert and Friend Killer though. JR is probably one of the 5 worst players in the league right now.

Pretty much. You'd think that they'd do better with 4 years to review their mistakes. Apparently not.

Apparently, the pick goes to Cleveland, not the Knicks...

Yeah, the Knicks made out like bandits in this trade tbh. Especially if they get a 1st rounder somehow.
Cap space alone is a big get for them. They may have cut at least $10 million from the books. They'd have about $31 million in cap in the off season including a likely top 5 pick.

Thanks. Still a good deal for the Knicks and not much better for the Cavs.

For a protected first round pick and a 4M trade exception.

    Waiters to OKC?

Is this another trade that Spurs fans freak out about over nothing?

How bad have Shumpert and Smith been this season? Are they in decline, or are they just playing bad? Has JR Smith really been that bad? Bottom 5 player bad?

Honestly, I was excited to see Reggie leave OKC. He kills the Spurs. But alas, that isn't happening.

So OKC is now over the luxury tax for the first time. They're dumping someone, right? Or did Bennet suddenly stop being a cheapskate?

They'll prolly make a few more moves. As a lot of us have alluded to in this thread and downstairs, Jackson and Waiters playing alongside each other won't work well.

So this probably means OKC will move Jackson before the deadline...who else would they want to move? Perkins?

Waiters is talented. A head case, but talented. My only issue with him this summer was he was reluctant to take on a bench role for the Cavs.

    Spurs should trade Marco and Ayers for a bag of chips tbh;

There is no way a bag of chips would perform worse than those two...
