wasn't that supposed to be a massive choke by brady?
they put up 7 points the entire game until that late scoring drive, so to a degree, yes. but he did his job at the end when given the opportunity and put them up.

Fivehead had a nice 4-pick performance with a 35.5 passer rating against the Pats in '03, tbh. He shat the bed even worse against them the following year to the tune of 5.7 YPA, 0 TD, and 1 INT but only 3 points.
Ok, I was wrong but those are comparable in terms of tiness. 45-7 is still a skull ing and Luck finished with a 23 rating. In due time you'll be throwing him under the bus.

Eh it happens. I was rooting for Luck in this game. I just laugh at the clutch gene bs.

all of these were before the Broncos/Baltimore game, which is when you said you finally threw Peyton's gloriously shaped noggin under the bus. Those performances didn't make you hate him but a Joey Bags hailmary did? Christ!

No threads because there's no surprises. Luck sucks and feasts off a weak division.

Are we just gna sit here and act like he hasn't been eerily similar to Peyton Manning in that his balls shrivel in Foxborough?

Wilson played a ing horrendous game, and deservedly, he got slammed here. Luck played like pure garbage, but nary a peep.
Different situation. Wilson clearly almost cost his team the game at home where they were big favorites. Colts were big underdogs and had no chance regardless of how Luck played.

true. the purpose of this thread wasn't to promote Wilson > Luck or anything of that sort. i think even you can acknowledge (actually you sorta already did) the discrepancy on this forum though...
Its really a dumb thread. No one expected the Colts to win and they really had no chance regardless of how Luck played.

Exactly. Only elite QB's can single-handedly change the game and give them a chance.

The Pats aren't unbeatable by any means. Their defense is not that great.

Luck is a legend in the making but he shouldn't even have been here if it weren't for Manning's injury tbh

Despite Luck's ty game the prevailing thought is still that he would be in the Super Bowl right now if his defense didn't allow every running back in the league to become Adrian Peterson for a day.

Colts desperately need to go back to the 4-3 defense. They're putting too many down linemen in linebacker roles and it ing shows. Mathis and Werner are DE's not LB's.

Luck makes way too many totally stupid throws. You know if with two minutes to go and he needs to drive 90 yards, he's going to up. Totally different deal than the greats like Russell Wilson.

The 1995 Colts defense was great when healthy. That was one of my favorite teams ever. Too bad they fired Teddy just to make sure Infante wouldn't go anywhere.

so what are your thoughts on how well Luck played, individually

I thought he was crappy in the first half. Pressure got to him and he missed throws. There were drops too. He did hit some nice passes, but he missed alot of throws too. Wouldn't have made much of a difference in general since the defense got destroyed.

I will say this. I can see why people think he has a ton of potential, but he's got a long way to go to be that franchise QB that can carry teams a long way like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees have, especially teams with bottom 5 defenses. His arm strength is good, but not great, and he makes too many turnovers.

ok, the rest of that didn't address my question. so you thought he had a crappy first half. cool. how do you think he fared in the 2nd, individually?

Probably worse in the 2nd, but it wouldn't have mattered. Pats did whatever they want offensively. He would have had to have been flawless. If the game was closer, then he would have deserved a big share of the blame. But really, its pointless to single him out for this loss.

So he was crappy in the first half, and worse in the 2nd. cool.

that's all i was asking. wasn't referring to their roles in their wins/losses, just on his performance (hence the thread le)

Only in response after RW getting criticized, your sensitive self decided to make a thread about Luck. Big difference is, Luck really didn't have a chance to cost his team a chance to go to the Super Bowl in a heavily favored home game versus a bad defense.

Wilson played a garbage game, and in just about every alternate universe, he cost them the chance to go to a superbowl. I won't be caught saying otherwise.

I'm just pointing out that this forum is very quick to criticize certain quarterbacks while others (particularly Luck) are largely immune from criticism. Luck played about as poorly as Wilson did. He was in a tougher environment against a better team, but he also should be held up to the standards of an elite QB who actually has good pieces in the passing game.

You could surely say "the Colts werent going to win anyway based on how poor their defense was" but then I could easily say "no matter how well their defense played, they weren't going to win with how poorly Luck played"
