Cause they went all in for 5, tbh. Don't expect a repeat, it's extremely unlikely. If it happens, that's gravy, but don't hold your breath. Just enjoy the ride.

Why concern yourself with things that seem to have 0% chance of happening ... the Spurs are now healthy and rested and they just cannot get it together. Another wasted night where they could have made up some ground against Clips and Rockets. There is nothing to enjoy it tbh ...

We lost to every playoffs team in the regular season last year.

We looked very average vs 8th seed Mavs.

Then we clicked and pooped on everyone on the way to being possibly the greatest final team in history

Its funny that people still read into the regular season so much here. You are right this team has no chance considering they had the worst December known to man kind and yet only three games back of second in the division. Besides GSW no one else is making themseleves seperate from the pack.

Let's talk when April comes around then worry...

Our main issues are heath and synch... and both are linked tbh

We can keep playing that way until the PO and win it all the same way we can (and did) dominate the RS and sucked during the PO...

As painfull it is to watch the team, talent is not the issue, now that health problems seem to disappear (Tony?), the team has to work to be on the same page again and it's not as easy at it seems.
There isn't the adrenaline that fuel them last year, don't underestimate how opponent want to beat the champ and again, the injuries of the 2 most important players (imho) really hurt the synch..

As frustrating as it might be, we won't/can't know until the PO start.

    They won't. 1st round exit.
After the RRT, it will be lottery time.

Although it's not conscious, i think the players feel a bit like this. The ship gave them a sense of release, after the 2013 and 2012 runs. They would have to find back this needed sense of ermergency and i doubt they will

Naw, in my estimation we will finish a 5 seed but have a better record than Portland (who will be awarded the 4 seed as a division champ) and we will beat them and lose in 7 to Golden State
With Blake out, Spurs should pass the Clippers before the ASG and Dallas/Portland within a few weeks if they continue playing at a .500 clip. Even Houston has a brutal stretch coming up. To me, only the top two seeds are out of reach.

People may be overreacting to the Toronto loss as in years past, that was essentially a guaranteed W. They are close to a 70% win% team at home and for basically every other west team, that's a coin flip to 60-40 game at best. Defense has been clicking but the offense goes through awful cold spells. Surprised Patty hasn't been injected to try to right the ship.

Spurs are coasting. They will grab the 3 seed when they have to. Probably watch the Grizz or Warriors get knocked out in the first round, then eventually beat whatever one that doesnt lose despite not having homecourt.

    ^ disagree

they were not coasting last nite.

Spurs wanted to win BAD last nite. Give Pop his 1000 career win. Even Larry Brown was there to witness it.

They got beat give props to the Torontos tbh even with their main man playing poorly, they stepped up and smacked us

In the words of Rudy Tomjanovich, "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion". That team coasted in their b2b year. We could be like them...you know...minus one Dream shake.

tbh, I stole the line from one of Bill Simmons write-ups, I've not watched a single episode of Game of Thrones...

We gave that away. The efffort was there (20 offensive rebounds) but we shot 33% don't win many shooting that bad.

better depth than last season. Parker, Splitter and Diaw aren't playing as good as last season but I could see Diaw and Splitter turning things around in the postseason. Parker has to be at least an average PG to not hurt us or Pop has to play him fewer minutes. Between 28-30 mpg While splitting the remaining minutes between Cojo & Mills.

With an average Parker we don't pass the 1st round last year...

Hard to accept how weak this team can be.
