It's going to suck for Durant if the thunder caused irreparable damage to his foot trying to get him to play this year... freakin' incredible.
Welp...thanks for the memories Durant. Maybe he can dupe Washington into giving him one last big contract so he can retire in style.

Serious concerns here. The #2 spot is now firmly in Unibrow's hands. Harden, Curry, Blake others are great players but when it comes to best of the best I dont know if we will ever see Durant at the top. too bad.
Cool. Maybe the spurs can finally sign a big name free agent.
Why would you feel bad for that got
Nobody gives a about the Pelicans brah. So do us all a favor and shut the up
Just couldn't understand why OKC didn't throw this season, get a good draft pick, and go for next year. Both Durant and Westbrook were hurt at some point, just shut them down, let them rehab slowly while keeping them in shape. Let Ibaka develop his game, integrate Kanter and guys into the offense, and force Brooks to play guys other than those two for major minutes.
Doesn't OKC have an analytics team? Did they calculate how likely it is to destroy a player's career by rushing him back too soon?
Wow
They rushed Ibaka back last year during the playoffs too.
James Anderson, we hardly knew ye
, is that the same injury JA had?
Hope you enjoyed your run, Kevin.
Yes and other guys like Beaubois and Travis Outlaw
It's sad because everyone even here was saying the Thunder was rushing him back too soon. Could they not even see that? Now his career is over imo. His type of injury has killed many careers.
They didn't care. They rushed Ibaka back last year. Rushed Westbrook back twice.
I agree. but again Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka all deserve blame too. I get the FO should protect the player from themselves. And I love the warrior spirit as a fan ...but Durant is a multi-billion dollar business man he should be more cautious.
As much as I would like to blame the players for rushing back I have to put the blame on the FO. All great players are highly compe ive and want to compete regardless of how bad the situation is. I remember Duncan wanting to play in the '00 playoffs with his torn meniscus but Pop forced him against his will not to play. Even Duncan has confirmed this in interviews that he wasn't happy about it at that time but now is grateful for what Pop did.
OKC wasn't beating GSW even if they were fully healthy.
Maybe not, but there was a much better chance. With only Westbrook, OKC will win at most one game.
I don't necessary disagree, but players are supposed t want to rush back and the front offices job is to evaluate the risks and reward to clear a player to play or not. That's not the job of an athlete. An athlete is there to play.
Just can't get Simmons' article from the last WCF out of my head after hearing this news

That's eerie![]()
