It was only an hour long? That was weak!
Damn, sorry I'm missing this. I'm staying with relatives and they rented "Beauty Shop".![]()
It was only an hour long? That was weak!
Dude, the 9/11 Telethon was an all night event, and this was ONE freaking hour? WEAK!
I was wathing the biography of Andre the Giant on A&E
I certainly don't disagree, nor am I surprised. Honestly, Foo Fighters is one of those bands I have not gotten around to yet. I've liked what I have heard in passing. Maybe someone could send me an additional sample or two them on a CD.
I am disappointed you missed the "well, well, well" reference.
I'll send you all of their stuff. I owe you a few cds either way. Do you want regular cds or want them as mp3s?
Come on, it's not about owing. It pleases me to introduce music afficionados to new tunes ... at least I hope many of them were new (to you)
Regular please .... Maybe a little Beck too (another one of those I have not really got around too, but I like what I have heard).
Thanks
Jelly,
I can't find the lyrics on the web. Can you post them again?
We have some Beck so I can do that too!
Kanye West was awesome. Good thing he didn't run his pretty little mouth off.
Sure Puffy. You couldn't find them cause I got the date wrong. It's 1927.
Louisiana 1927
by Randy Newman
The lyics, by singer/songwriter Randy Newman, tell the story of the Louisiana flood of 1927, which killed hundreds and displaced hundreds of thousands across six states. The disaster is credited with sparking one of the great voting movements of the 20th century -- the shift in Southern black allegiance from the Republican to the Democratic Party -- and with spurring the New Deal politics of big government. Will history repeat?
What has happened down here is the winds have changed
Clouds roll in from the north and it started to rain
Rained real hard and it rained for a real long time
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline
The river rose all day
The river rose all night
Some people got lost in the flood
Some people got away alright
The river have busted through clear down to Plaquemines
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline

They're tryin' to wash us away
President Coolidge came down in a railroad train
With a little fat man with a note-pad in his hand
The president say, ''Little fat man isn't it a shame
What the river has done to these poor crackers land." [note they changed this to people's]

1 hour? I still can't get over how weak that was. I've had s that take longer.
Now you're just talking crap!![]()
I'm gonna give this a big ol' stamp.

No acoustic Sea Change junk now.
Man, how great is Guero though. One of 2005's most bodacious albums.
I just watched a replay of the show. HOT DAMN!! Those Creedence Clearwater Revival guys are lookin' goood!!![]()

That was a joke right?
yeah. But honestly, because they sounded exactly like CCR and they looked like them (at least to me), I was, for the first few moments thinking "Goddamn, how can anyone look like that after all those drugs and rock N roll...and DECADES!!). But I knew it couldn't be so I looked it up. Foo Fighters did an awesome job.and they've made me love a song that I used to hate.
I mean, seriously, that long-haired hippy war protesting southern rock look never did it for me, but.... I've got to go take a cold shower now. I'm looking up Foo Fighter concert dates now. Thinking of becoming a groupie.
I agree.. I was like 1 hour? Should of been all 3 prime time hours.
CBS had some other benefit concert on...
The Foo rule. John Fogerty has a really throaty voice simillar to Dave's.
All relief benefit concerts I've seen have lasted an hour.
The one after 9/11 was longer, at least 3 hours.
Hmm. Well, I remember the "Fashion Rocks" thing being on CBS immediately after that. Maybe it was live so they cut the benefit shorter (since it was on every channel).
The one after 9/11 was on every channel as well. It lasted all Saturday night. I was really disappointed in the length.
