    they fit into un violations!!!
The White House cited violations of Security Council resolutions 678 and 687 as the basis for Resolution 1441, which gave Iraq one last chance. Neither 678 nor 687 relates to the no-fly zone. 678 authorized the use of force to remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait in 1991. Resolution 687 required Iraq to unconditionally disarm itself of any chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. Thus, none of the resolutions that the White House cited had anything to do with the no-fly zone and, again, the White House never offered violations of the no-fly zone as a justification for its war.

If you don't like the rhetoric, don't read what's been posted. Virtually all politics is rhetoric.

Have you elevated yourself to the discourse police? or is this some dippy ploy to inflate your posting statistics?

"saddam constantly fired upon our planes in the no fly zones."

The US was flying over his country, WTF would you do if Mexico was flying over Texas with fully armed warplanes?

And firing on US planes over Iraq affected only those planes, presented absolutely no threat to the USA.

stfu boutons. he was in VIOLATION OF UN REGS. it is a totally different scenario. that is what happens when you start a war and lose. you lose basic rights that most countries have.

    "they know how"

It's a national security secret, right?

sorry, but "staying the course" is a 3-word phrase that streches shrub's intellect, but it's NOT "how" to resolve Iraq.

A main reason Americans are abandonding shrub/ head over Iraq is that the Repugs haven't articulated a way forward that convinces the Americans to believe in the Repug's Iraq misadventure (for those few who ever did). People just don't believe that shrub has clue how to get the US out of Iraq in a way that justifies the cost so far.

"he was in VIOLATION OF UN REGS."

BFD. Iraq was pinned down and harmless. The solution the US/allies/UN had applied to Iraq was "good enough" to hold for years.

The US's pressing priority was terrorists, al Quaida, jihadis, bin Laden, but shrub ed up and went into Iraq.

Secular Iraq was not involved in WTC or with jihad or terrorism.

In 1990, bin Laden even offered the Saudis to fight Saddam in Kuwait and protect his sacred Saudi Arabia. The Saudis said no, went with the Americans, and bin Laden broke totally with SA and carried on with his jihad, with the US presence in SA "defiling" that country, in bin Laden's opinion.

"saddam funded terrorists... no way around that."

    Proof?

A lot of people, countries funded terrorists, like the Saudis. Even if Saddam did, that doesn't justify a war.

Iran funded, funds terrorists, and raped the US Embassy, but the Repugs didn't have the balls to go in there.
