Agreed.
Make no mistake the Dirk hate is all 100% racism
Agreed.
I am a homer, and probably the biggest die hard Mavericks fan out-there, but I am also a realist. Pau is one of the most skilled big man to enter the game, and an argument can be made which is one is better Pau or Dirk?
Dirk certainly has the advantage in scoring, and probably more clutch than Pau but Pau edge him out in everything else.
Dirk has always been "the man," the guy who could get you points in bunches in crunch time and put a team on his back. Kg never could and deferred to pierce PERIOD.
Lel and you're "probably" a got, nice try
Dirk put a team with no other creators on his back and won a ring, none of the others did period. Go ahead try to prove me wrong. Pro tip: you can't, it's just facts.
Also fkla is a known la raza anti white got and a terrible poster (and terrible taste in women) and should not be taken seriously at all. This guy almost committed duicide when Dirk got the and 1 over Manu luckily for him his mom stopped him and grounded him for 3 weeks.
Yes, Dirk was the number one option in 2011 championship team by default but It was Jason Terry's heroics in both game 2 and 7 which sealed the deal.
Also Tyson Chandler's dominating the defensive end, you can also attribute being lucky on the road to the championship, facing the dysfunctional Lakers, the no experience Thunder, and the big 3 in Miami not gelling into their full potential yet.
Dirk best chance to prove that he was without a doubt the best was in 2007, when he won the regular season MVP. But we all knew what happened ...... Lost to an 8th seed. Biggest collapse in NBA history.
>cherry picking 2 games
top kek and Parker won MVP in 07 and manu should have in 05
lol lucky
Also I just want to include this in the discussion, even though I don't want to because I'm not the type but the people crying racism...
One can also make an argument that most of the people who supports Dirk are also racist, the great white hype supporters.
Too bad Christian Laetnaer didnt have a coach like Don Nelson and players like Steve Nash and Michael Finley to start his career.
Stop arguing with this dude, he's doing a bit.
Any attention gives him what he wants. No Mavs fan would dedicate his entire posting career to ting on Dirk.
Dirk was the unquestioned Finals MVP of 2011.
In this route to the le, he defeated Kobe, Gasol, DUrant, Wade, Lebron, Harden, Westbrook, ALdridge...
Dirk was a consistent monster in the playoffs from 2003-2011... 2007 was the only outlier and poor playoff series out of him. He averaged 25/10. The debate can be made with KG though... I dont think Dirk wins a ring with 2008 Boston, but KG may fail to win a ring with 2011 Dallas... Dirk was a huge element of the offense, and was providing good defense/rebounding although not as superb as KG.
The 2007 team was an overachieving team that had inflated #s. Literally almost everyone on the team that year had a career year as far as shooting, including a lot of the "scrubs". But ultimately this team was just Dirk + a bunch of decently but not greatl talented perimeter players and just Diop/Dampier on the frontline. Its point differential was +7.2, so they were closer to a 62-63 win team rather than a 67 win team. Dirk was bad in the playoffs, but he more than made up for this in 2011 This troll (TMOGE) I'm surprised still has life in 2011.
The main point however is that DIrk didnt by any means have a stacked squad in 2007. and that Golden STate team was far better than its 42-40 record. It was still a disappointment and a blemish on Dirk, but for that 1 bad playoff series hes had a plethora of excellent ones, even in losing.
Dirk has not played next to a superstar in the last 10 years. Some good teams... a great coach (Carlisle)... and some pretty solid teammates/casts... but never a superstar. never a really stacked team.
If not for that pussy Pau Gasol Dirk wouldn't have a pot to piss in, nor window to throw it out of. He just happened upon that idiot when Cuban was still as sharp as a serpent's tooth. Cubes took Dirk & Chandler aside gave 'em each the Dutch uncle treatment and viola, Pau was running around crying to the officiating like a big Spanish baby.
Pau Gasol
No dide I don't care if there was a 7ft Kobe out there he would have done him ink like everyone else that got in his way. He was on a mission that year and wouldn't be denied.
Perhaps, but, I heartily believe had we traded Gasol during that off season we'd have received top shelf compensation and somebody who wasn't going to back down to the likes of Perkins, Powe, even Dirk & Chandler. Pau was at turns such a strength & weakness, at the mercy of people who knew where the bear in the buckwheat and had not forgotten what had transpired in the near past ('08) ('10). We'd bled Gasol out thru '10. Whistled past the graveyard in '10. That was THE time to sell. We hung on too long and we got punished for it.
But, that's supposition. It's wishful thinking, a dream, deep regrets. You won. We lost.
You still think about it every day, >? It's been over 4 years, does it still seem immediate?
I remember the night I last won. Girl was here and I believe she grudged Dale winning it, was a little flat eared over it. She didn't say anything good or bad, but, I could tell she wasn't being totally candid. God, I hate a loved one rooting against me, especially in silence. I've never gotten over it. Never said anything that nite or since about it, but, I will never forget. Forgive? Yes. Forget? No.
Winning what? What did you win?
Yeah dude I remember like yesterday I was watching the game 2 come from behind win at my then gf's house. They were all talking and bull ting and I was focused on the game. Then I couldn't believe it when we won game 4 and then 5 to take the lead. I was nervous as a in nazi Germany's until the final buzzer sounded in game 6..I think the shock didn't wear off until I you not about a year later. I didn't even come here to boast or brag, I was totally speechless and at peace for the first time.
