Anybody who says Kawhi is better than LaMarcus is completely wrong. Kawhi is the future of the team and one day will be the Spurs' best player but as of right this moment, he may be the spurs 3rd best player or at best, 2nd. LaMarcus is hands down the best player on the team. I've mentioned this here before, he's by far our best scorer and is a top tier rebounder (tied at 8th in the league with Anthony Davis at 10.2/game).
Aldridge was 7th in the league in scoring at 23.4ppg.
The only players that averaged more points than he did were all MVP candidates: Westbrook, Harden, LeBron, Anthony Davis, Demarcus Cousins, and Stephen Curry. That is some elite company right there.
Post all star break Leonard>Aldridge. Leonard didn't get healthy until the all star break, blurred vision & his hand injury, plus the Spurs were still learning to play around him and were injured too. First half of the season was just a big mess.

    Post all star stats:
    31 mpg
    17.9 ppg, 52% shooting
    7 rpg
    2.5 apg
    36% from 3
    2.6 spg
    .8 bpg
    DPOY

Those 31 mpg really limit him, as well as the number of shot attempts he gets per game. Aldridge averages 4mpg more, Harden 5.4, Davis 5, LBJ 5, Cousins 3, etc. Give Leonard 4 extra mins with more shot attempts, all those #'s increase quite a bit.

    Aldridge and it's not close
LMA was 2nd behind Tiago Splitter in the league at FPA at the rim last year

LMA is a competent defender and a great offensive player(best shooting guard in the league? ) meanwhile Kawhi is a pretty good defender (bad lateral quickness though) and shaky offensive player..

Logically you have to go with LaGodcus
dont forget that stupid face he made before bricking the game clinching ft in '13. Cost us our 1st fifth and Duncan's 4th finals MVP.
Odds are these are all the same got.

Just tried 2K with the 2015/2016 rosters and LMA is killing it as a Spurs, TBH, but the lack of backup C will kill us.
I've had them in a few of my mygm leagues and they usually get bounced in the 2nd or third round.

2k is terrible at projecting wins. I swear when I edit the rosters on 2k its always the Bulls and Thunder in the finals. The Bulls managed to threepeat in one of my franchises. Was ridicoulus.

If Kawhi is the Kawhi post-All Star break, he's the best player easily. If LMA gets his defensive concepts straight, he'll be right up there. Tim is still the best player on the team, though. So Kawhi and LMA are really just fighting to see who's heir-apparent and who's heir-presumptive.

Aldridge was the MAN in his team for several years, Kawhi was not and has yet to show he can carry a scoring load on his own and then create for other consistently. He's had some good games and a good string of games to close the season, but he lacked consistency. Lamarcus has been better offensively for a longer period of time and has been consistent for a few years and the best option for his team. Kawhi is beast defensively and is younger, thus still improving and hopefully the best is yet to come for him. Lamarcus right now, Kawhi edges him hopefully in the near future.
Honestly LaMarcus being the man isn't a strong point.
Blazers had a nice starting lineup, a young, offensive Lillard, Matthews a top-ten SG, Batum a young Diaw for his versatility, Lopez a limited but good C. If you think, these players were better supporting cast than LeBron had in the last of playoffs, with Irving dealing with injuries and Love out in first round. And LaMarcus couldn't lead his team to success.

When you said Kawhi lacked consistency, we can say the same Aldridge in decisive games (33FG% last playoffs, 43FG% playoffs career).

Also, the best offensive player is not always the best player.
James Harden averaged 27 ppg, Stephen Curry 23 ppg in last regular season but I pick Curry over Harden all day.

I've said before that LMA will be the offensive player of the Spurs, he'll look great in the system, but healthy Kawhi of last part of the season is the best, the most impactful player.

So, this is purely speculation until it happens. Until then, Aldridge has the better numbers. He's gets the nod until proven otherwise. This season possibly? Maybe. Who knows until it happens...

Not voting. It's too simplistic of a question. They're both better in different ways.

Aldridge was never even close to Kawhi, tbh, only people that watched Aldridge play exclusively against the Spurs would think otherwise..

He's a good player, but nothing special..

Yep, in Kawhi we have a mini-Lebron on the ascendency whose ceiling is really yet to be set..On the other hand, I know LMA has already peaked, but dude has too many weak ass moves (screens, pumpfakes..etc) that needs to be coached out of his habits..Time for Pop to crack the whip..

There's a difference between being a better offensive player and being a better player. Based on offense, LMA beats Kawhi. But overall, Kawhi is the better player.
Kawhi has to be the better offensive player too, up to this point.

Far better on offense than LMA up to this point. LMA can't even hit wide open shots like he did in the past though so I'm expecting significant improvement in his game.

We still need LMA to get going..TD/Manu are going to miss many games like this and you can't expect Kawhi to put up scary line like this each time

Not sure who I voted for tbh. I almost feel like if I voted for LMA it's because of all knob slobbing on this forum surrounding him. And he has been my favorite player on the team since his rookie year. Idiots on this forum are just really annoying.
