You honestly believe that Timmy doesn't win rings in the 2000s without Tony?

Not that these “Tony Parker sucks for his career” posts will ever end. I generally ignore them because they are so fundamentally void of intelligence. But every once in a while I chime in. Tony has been a huge part of the Spurs success story during the 2000s. Anyone that says otherwise is non-objective. You may not like some of the things he did or said or his dribbling or his defense or his shot selection or whatever. But that does not mean that he was not instrumental in every championship. Tim is a great player and would be a great player regardless of who his teammates are. But he doesn’t win les in the 2000s without Parker and Manu. All three were needed. Great players by themselves aren’t enough. Ask David Robinson, one of the greatest players to play the game. He didn’t sniff a le until later in his career, when he was able to partner with a super talented Tim Duncan.

No no, I didn't include Manu. I said parker.

Simple question: do you honestly think that Timmy doesn't win another ring in the 2000s without TP?

So who’s the starting point guard if Tony isn’t here?

He was 38 when Tony won the final MVP in 2007. But you think he was good enough to handle Iverson, Nash, and Deron Williams (when he was a stud in Utah)? Ok.

He will still probably get cut, but I think it would be classy to let the guy play in one home game.

Thomas, Butler, Williams, Sykes, and probably Jimmer will all get cut. McCallum has played bad enough to not make the team and may not finish the season with the Spurs. Simmons will see lots of d-league time this year. If he had not shown so well in the summer he might be on his way out of town too. I think the Spurs will break camp with 14 players. Simmons and Bonner will start out in suits. Spurs will want to add an assist first PG before the end of the year.

Well has it happened yet? Seems like everyone knows cuts are coming so the issue is number (3) and timing (today).

I think Butler may have played his way on the team. They can still cut him whenever they like before the guarantee deadline, so I see no rush to do so.

No reason to cut people until the end of the preseason. Most of the minutes will go to rotation players, but there's a quarter for the rest to get a few looks and hopefully catch on elsewhere. Pop has never been in a rush to cut people and he may cut one or two but not all this soon. Even if they don't play in the preseason game, they are practice bodies.

Heard it's a done decision and thomas and Jimmer are virtually gone....No more chance for them to make the team.

hearing talks that they might play to tryout for other teams..but theire done.

Was told they see potential in Keifer sykes and really like him.
