Parker is shooting great right now and with his reduced load on offense I see no reason why his shooting will fall off much if at all.
As an aging PG who has lost some of his quickness, Parker has made the right adjustments. I still wish he would shoot the three more-- he could definitely hit it consistently at 36-38% imo, but that might be a Pop decision...

The complaints last season weren't just about his FG%. That's a misleading stat anyway because he had barely 1 3pt attempt per game. Shooting 33.5% from 3 is the same as 50% from 2. His eFG% was down to 50.3% last year, which is not great for someone taking 12 shots per game. Especially when a lot of those shots weren't in the offensive rhythm.
People comparing his FG% to Curry are delusional. Curry has upwards of 10 3PA per game and his eFG% is way above Parker for last season and this. 59% and 63% respectively. If he was only taking 2pt shots like Parker his raw FG% would be 60%.
Parker's eFG% this season is at 58.2% this season, which is fine and he's more engaged on D. No complaints here, he's adapted well and I don't see him as the team's achilles heel if he continues his play so far.

This. Parker is doing just fine on offense, it's just that Curry is historically hot right now. Curry is in the high 60s in TS% on a high usage number, it's ridiculous.
I pity Spurs fans who have spent years rooting against Parker instead of sitting back and appreciating the Championship and HOF level of play we've had from our starting PG.
Can we really pretend they are "Spurs fans"?
Says who hates Manu..
Player fans smh
It isn't the NBA HOF....it is the Pro Basketball HOF, thus international ball counts.
What adjustments did he make?
I dont hate Manu.... I'm just not a biased bean-er. Parker has certainly had a better career with the Spurs and it's not really debatable..... it's actually comical. Doesn't mean that Manu isn't a top 4 or 5 Spur of all time. I give respect where it is due.
From what I saw, Parker came into last season with nagging injuries, fatigue, and was out of shape....it carried over throughout the season. He seemed to have lost a step or two on both ends. I know some of the fatigue had to do with his Team France commitments, but I also believe some of it was due to being a first time father to a baby. I cannot explain him being out of shape, other than the nagging injuries and probably lack of a strict commitment to fitness. He also seemed timid and less aggressive when attacking the paint.
This past offseason, he seemed to be more focused on his fitness and game. It has shown. He looks to have turned back the clock on both ends of the court. He has never been a strong defender, but this year, he has been more than adequate. He seems to be attacking the point with his old tenacity. His midrange game has been spot on. For the most part, he isn't a dribble , like in years past.
All in all, I like what I am seeing out of Parker so far this season. If he continues to play this way, it gives us just one more reason to have hope for a long run this year.
Some of them are. Not necessarily the trolls on here but there are more than a few Spurs fans who, for whatever reason, have decided Parker is their whipping boy. He's always stood out a bit, personality wise, and he handles the ball more than anyone, so it's not surprising that he's the target for people who don't know any better. It's the same as some Cowboys fans feelings toward Romo.
Yeah, Cowboys fans who think Romo sucks are a fair comparison. They are getting a dose of reality this season but I am sure they are all still in denial tbh.
Parker was actually better last November than he has been this season, tbh..
From playing poker with with his brother TJ a few times it seems like the Parker brothers enjoy a good meal and like to drink.... no shame in that but it was the first time im Parkers career being injured and older. It probably took him a while to adjust to having to treat his body a different way. Either way, he seems to have done it so more power to him. Proud of the dude.
Fewer FGA. Pretty obvious. But feel free to say something contrarian & snappy in response. Did you read the original post of the thread? http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254362
