The Spurs don't have the athletes to play the Warriors like the Thunder just did. They have one tremendous athlete (Kawhi) and another pretty good one (Green). That's pretty much it in terms of their likely playoff rotation.
San Antonio is right there on 3 point field goal Percentage...but, they take almost Half as many as GS. That's what I see.
GS takes around 30 3-pointers a game. San Antonio takes around 18.

The Spurs shoot 3's almost as well as GS and defend better. It's not about athleticism. It's about skill. And we have as much skill as they do, maybe more. Simmons doesn't sit because he's not athletic, he sits because he's not as skilled.
OKC is still the same team. They have two elite players, but they just have below-average basketball IQ collectively. I mean, they should've finished off GSW with one minute to go, but they ended up making boneheaded play after another. I like how OKC though switch on screens that involved Curry. They were basically conceding the open late and allowing Curry to beat them off the dribble. Good game plan and I'm pretty sure POP has taken notes.
Terrible terrible matchup when our weakest defender is our PG.
I also think Draymond is the most underrated player in the league. He runs just nearly as much offense as Curry. Constant triple double threat.
Green on Curry. Kawhi on Green. And hope someone can put a hand up against Klay
They are unbeatable! it's not just Curry and the talent on the team, they are also playing the game with perfect level of instincts and intuaitions, aggressiveness, mental powers...
We can just hope that the Clippers catch up with OKC so that we get a Warriors-Thunder match-up in the 2nd round.
I doubt we'll take 30 per game, but some guys who were nit shooting the 3 at all, or were passing up 3 pt shots like they were a virus are being encouraged... or rather at this point pressured to take them. But I doubt we'll take 30 as those same guys also like to post up or make plays off the dribble.. but I do see Pop putting the pressure on guys to shoot the 3. I wasn't seeing that earlier in the season.
I think the coaches have seen the light. We are nit winning with just Patty, Danny and Kawhi shooting the 3 and God bless Manu he's still far from being back.
Yeah, you're prolly right. Tho, Parker's 3 is looking pretty good this season. And Kyle, Simmons and Rasual have the ability as well. I have come to hate the 3 point line, it has the potential to ruin the game...but it is what it is. People have started talking about moving it back, but that wont work, you'd have to widen the court as well. Only option I see is getting rid of it altogether...but, doubt that'll happen. I just f'king hate the 3...lol
With Duncan not a force anymore on offense and can't punish anyone, spurs don't have any chanse against the Dubs, they did a mistake not trading for Rudy Gay and using him as a another offensive power in a small ball lineup...
GSW is 58 games in and Curry just hit 12 threes in a single game, including one from 38 feet out to win. I usually agree with regression to the mean logistics but that dude clearly made a deal with the devil.
obvious laker troll is obvious
Right.. they would have. They would have one one regular season game at home..... a game in which they played their hearts out in like it was the NBA finals. They ain't beating this team in a 7 game series. No one is with the Warriors having homecourt
Did you only watch the final play of regulation or something? Durant is the whole reason the Thunder were even up. Westbrook was blowing every single play with bad passing and poor shot selection which led to repeated empty possessions all the way down the stretch. Durant was banging clutch shot after clutch shot and getting clutch rebounds. . .
And you blame Durant over two plays? One of which he was at least trying. You have a weird definition of what choking is, and an even weirder standard for ignoring clutch play while excusing poor play. If Durant was playing as bad as Westbrook was late in the 4th they would've simply lost the game by 8-12 and it wouldn't have even gone to OT.
He's likely on 'nootropics' ... very popular stuff in his neck of the woods.
Not illegal, but you cannot possibly shooting that kind of percentages without some external technological advance.
This. I agree 100%. I can see Curry drop 60 on Parker and the Spurs. People saying that OKC made mistakes at the end but at least they kept the game close, Spurs got blown out...bad.
Nope - just two.
Damn. Confidence.
I'm sure this will upset the closet Warriors fans, who are in damn near every thread I see about them, slobbering over them and singing their praises to no end, but these assholes are now a whopping six games better than their expected W-L (the Spurs are actually one game worse).
I don't think anyone is disputing that they're the favorites, at this point, but this illustrates that they've also had an incredible amount of late game luck.
Last night was a perfect example. Donovan sabotages his own team by playing two offensive liabilities down the stretch against their small lineup. There were myriad fluke bounces on the play that led to the terrible Durant call at the end of regulation. Finally, Roberson, who's one job on the Curry game winner, was not only let him dribble in a straight line, into a rhythm shot, does exactly that.
If this were a one off, fine; it happens. But the that's out of their control always seems to break their way. History suggests that's not sustainable.
I don't think the Warriors could beat a balanced team with a dominant low post player, ala Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, etc.
Problem is, there's nobody like that in today's league, and therefore GSW is in beast mode.
The Worriers will take care of them in 5 games while WestBrick shoots OKC out of the series. OKC had Durant going nuclear while the Worriers played a below average game & they still lost both games away/home.
Kanter will get exposed in a postseason series ala Z-Bo & Ezeli (missed both meetings) being available will help out the Worriers on the boards/paint when Bogut gets benched.
The Clippers have been more compe ive despite not having Re available for one of the earlier matchups & Blake missing their most recent matchup where Jeff Green was also making his Clipper debut. OKC lost their lead when Curry left the game while the Clippers went up 20+ on the Worriers when Curry got in foul trouble so that should tell you a lot.
Only idiots who consume BSPN would want to play a Clippers team that recently waxed the Spurs WITHOUT Blake over an OKC team that has gotten worse since 2014 when the Spurs beat them w/ Bonner starting for Tiago.![]()
Kyle Singler might be the worst player getting minutes on an elite team & he was playing in OT against the best team in the league while checking Curry on switches.![]()

This.. It's Curry, how is he allowed to dribble into a shot he has made lots of times?
Forget about the TO. Let them take it, then rest.
I don't even think it's a good idea to give that shot to anyone, specially star guards who probably practice it and have the physical tools to make them any given night.
