truth is, neither team really know what is in store against each other if the face off in the finals. Spurs in particular they probably feel rather uneasy with their wins coming too easily yet, not truly firing in all cylinders as a unit. There isa fool's gold sense about the Spurs and more of a real sense of s team that can turn it on when it counts with the Warriors. The benchmark that drives these perceptions are not so much the regular season results but the performance from the 14/15 playoffs and development of teams since. It will be a great playoffs season or a terrible one for the Spurs I believe. If they click early, it's a ring. If they don't first round exit. Right now it is Pandora's box.

    2010: Tim Duncan is done

2011: "Spurs are no longer contenders"-Porker

2012: "Oh, it's alive..it's alive!"; Welp, the Spurs blew their last chance to play for a le in the Team Duncan era

2013: Spurs have no chance against the 66 win Heatles & Kawhi is no match for PEAK LeBrick; OMG! They will NEVER recover from this, EVER!"

2014: OKC sweeps the season series & Spurs have a mediocre record against elite team.

Narrative: Spurs are too old, they blew their load in 2013, OKC is too athletic & has their number.

Outcome: Spurs hand the Heat the worst beat-down in a Finals series & run Bron (the unequivocally best player in the world at that time*cough*Curry*cough*) out of town.

It wasn't by 30, but the Spurs embarrassed those arrogant pricks late last season and no one made a big deal of it. They do it back and all of a sudden, it's the most telling regular season game in history.

ESPN should be embarrassed by their myriad Warriors fan boys.
And everyone rightfully didn't make a big deal out of it last year because the Spurs couldn't even get out of the first round. If they want to make an issue of it, they have to win the le first.

My biggest beef is that they just totally disregard us being the champs a year ago and breaking up the "Heatles". They admit we have by the best coach in the league and a top 5 player in the league..

And despite us being "old" and resting players we're still in striking distance of the beloved "Warriors". They're literally judging off of one game. But I get a kick out of this type of stuff because as Spur fans we know they typically eat their words.

At this point it's pretty easy to think that they enjoy doing it because of the reaction of the fans. Clearly from the outside the Spurs aren't as lovable as we think they are. it. Their loss.

I meant at the time it happened.

There's no other team in major North American professional sports, with even close to the pedigree of the Spurs, that constantly has to prove themselves.

Some might say that there's not a team in history with so much success and such thin-skinned fans.
