We held back on purpose this year, so we can send Tim/Manu out on top and get D-West the Finley treatment of winning in his 2nd year here.

We'll make a couple minor tweaks I'm sure, but this isn't it for this group IMO. Maybe front-line/guard help, but that's about it.

For those saying "vet minimum", both Tim and Manu have guaranteed deals with player options. If they come back they will get paid:

    Tim: $5,643,750
    Manu: $2,940,630

Those contracts cannot be "renegotiated", etc...
For what Tim and Manu have meant to SA, I would gladly see them back next year for their final season. This money is peanuts compared to what they have done for the NBA in San Antonio.

I need to free my mind; now my goal is Rio 2016

SAN ANTONIO.- That said, my main goal now is the Olympic Games. It's time to relax. There's nothing else for me before that starts, and I'll take care of the National Team later. I suppose in a couple of weeks I'll think a bit more about my future.

During this time I think how things developed this season. It was a spectacular season most of the time, but we had a terrible series against Oklahoma City and were eliminated. That happens when you don't play well at certain moments that require you to play well. Even then, I thought it was a pretty even series, with three games that were decided right at the end, and could've gone either way. And in a tight series, some of those bounces can leave you out. Both on Game 2 and Game 5 anything could've happened. A couple of dubious calls, a missed shot, a steal... It's a shame, because we thought we were capable of reaching the conference finals and see what we could do against Golden State, but it didn't happen. They did a good job on key possesions, closed the games better and took the series. There's obviously some disappointment, I insist, because we felt like we were capable to move on to the next round. And last season was somewhat similar.

There's other objectives for me this year. Even though it's very clear to me I have to mentally rest a bit, it's inevitable that I start getting an itch about the Olympic Games, because that's what's next. I want to relax right now, analyze what happened and see how I feel after a tough season. So the next few days I'll be avoiding the gym, running and shooting. But once the times we've discussed with my fitness trainer and physiotherapist are up, I'm going to start training with one objective: Rio de Janeiro 2016.

    1. National Team.... Probally get injured and run out of gas by next Spring 2017
    2. Your coach played a line up
    3. Don't play anymore retire......then Argentina is gonna blame you for not winning the Gold

frankly, he's had a reduced role and salary for a few seasons now... it's probably more about the roster spot than anything, but if we're still carrying scrubs like Bonner around, I'm sure there's room for Manu (and Tim too).
Yes that about sums it up.

Manu has been my favorite spur since he joined the team. I hope he comes back. I hope tim comes back. I hope both come off the bench though, and begin coaching as they are playing. That is the real role I want for both of them.

Oh, and by the way, poor Manu wasn't bailing out ANYBODY in our last playoff series. I love him. But he played poorly.
He can't have any superlative role anymore. Some fans (not me) still expect that of him, and they're just setting themselves up for disappointment, tbh. He'll be a good influence to the kids and that's about it.

But he's right that we don't know if we're going to need that. It really depends on what moves the team makes and what kind of direction they take.

IMO, Pop will look back at '67 wins' and stay the course, and I'm not sure that's the right decision...

Manu will keep collecting them checks. Spurs gearing up for another 2nd round bounce next season.

    Best not watch then.

If Kobe can destroy a team on his way out to the point where they get two #2's, Manu, Tim and Tony can do whatever they want even if it's a second round exit.

win in the regular season.... the bed in the 1st or 2nd Round

I excluded the 1990 team because that team was awesome...but the following season we got vetetrans.

This is all true, but it's a lot easier to stomach when you have 5.5 rings, tbh... unlike back then when you fielded vets that really gave little to nothing to the team, now it's those that brought the LOBT...

That's why I'm saying they should do whatever they want.

I love Manu as a fan can't ask for a better role modle and player for our team. The dude plays with a passion for the game and leaves it all on the court. That is why I hope he hangs it up and stays on in some capacity within the Spurs organization.

Two number two picks is a lot better than two second round exits.

I'll take LMA over a #2 pick (maybe not TWO of them) ... he's not coming here unless Duncan and Manu play last year.
