Curry 26, 5, and 6. Iguodala 16, 6, and 4. It's not like Iguodala was putting up 16, 10, 10 to make up for the scoring difference. The other numbers pretty much cancel each other out. But the scoring difference alone gives Curry the FMVP for me.
Had Curry put up 26, 5, 6 guarding Kyrie or absolutely destroyed Delly then he would have won the FMVP. (Porker won FMVP in 2007 b/c he destroyed Boobie Gibson)

Duncan went 6-for-18 in the 2nd half, and down the stretch he didn't seal the game. Duncan scored 17 points on 18 shots. He took 18 shots! 33% from the field for a big man. Took over in the 2nd half?.
The Pistons were trying to pull away in the 3rd quarter but Tim had other idea:

Duncan went 6-for-18 in the 2nd half, and down the stretch he didn't seal the game. Duncan scored 17 points on 18 shots. He took 18 shots! 33% from the field for a big man. Took over in the 2nd half? Took over all the shot attempts. He also had four turnovers by himself in the 2nd half alone. Took over in the 2nd half? Duncan deserved the FMVP over Horry because of the overall production throughout the series. But Horry was a major difference maker in games 5 and 7... as a ROLE PLAYER.

Horry and Iguodala share the same type of defensive attention in that guys like Duncan and Curry get all the defensive focus from the other team. And that's why role players can have some big scoring nights. My point about Horry remains the same. He was probably the difference in the series. But I still DO NOT give him the FMVP over Duncan or Ginobili because he's a role player whose overall Finals series production still paled in comparison. Same way I feel about Iguodala. He was great. And his defense was awesome. And his unexpected production offensively was a major difference in the series last year. I still don't give him the FMVP over Curry. Being the second leading scorer for the Warriors last year, the difference wasn't 1-2 points like it was between Duncan and Ginobili in 2005. There's a 10 point difference in scoring between Curry and Iguodala. That's significant. Significant enough that you can't give it to Iguodala. Curry 26, 5, and 6. Iguodala 16, 6, and 4. It's not like Iguodala was putting up 16, 10, 10 to make up for the scoring difference. The other numbers pretty much cancel each other out. But the scoring difference alone gives Curry the FMVP for me.
Curry easily could have MVP last year and probably should have been ...
As Manu could have been in 2005 ...
Honestly it's not a huge deal either way ...on this board we seem to care though ...

Keeping his team in the game in the third quarter doesn't exactly scream "sealed the game" to me. Went 3-for-6 in that stretch along with the free throws. So outside of that 5 minute stretch, he was 3-for-12 in the second half right? You said took over the second half which sealed the game. I don't see that sealing the game. I wouldn't argue had you said something like "Duncan kept them in the game for like a 5 minute stretch at the end of the third quarter, which allowed Ginobili to seal the game."

Tim had 12 of the 19 pts for the Spurs in the 3rd quarter along w/ 6 rebounds & stout rim protection.
He also had two key assists in the 4th quarter when the Pistons doubled him.

I stated "sealed the DEAL", as in the MVP case for Iggy/Tim.

The sequence that ACTUALLY clinched the championship involved Tim in EVERY play: (Manu hit 4 FTs after being INTENTIONALLY fouled)

Tim just pretty much stayed in the fight that game 7. He was all banged up with ankle injuries, playing against the best D in the league. He shot poorly but stayed with it, demanding the ball, playing great D and rebounding. He never shied away from wanting it in that game. He showed his championship heart..

It's amazing how big time the Warriors role-players are. I wrote off Barbosa, Livingston, Barnes as shaky earlier in the season, but boy have they flourished. Hope Patty, Fat Ass, and Fat Head are taking notes.
They started off 27-0 why would you write them off lol

He should have won it last year, and he should win it again, regardless, tbh..the attention he draws off the ball is something we have never seen before in the NBA..

Curry is going to be the 4th player in NBA history to win back to back MVPs + championships, joining Russell, Lebron and DK

Klay/Wardell even draw attention while sitting on the bench which is why Livingston/Barbosa lit up the Cavs.
