    Sidney Green
    Richard Jefferson
    Charles Smith
Admiral learned list as well! Larry Brown begged for Green and two days after he got here, Brown went whinning to McCombs saying he didn't like Green and wanted him gone. Best known for showing up fat and out of shape for every traiming camp. Tied with Cadillac Anderson for having the best hands made of wood.

Jackie Butler cost us Luis Scola...
The ghost of Larry Brown came back to haunt us. Pop listened to his butt buddy Brown about what a great talent Butler was, so Pop signed him. After getting here we found he was dumb, couldn't play nor could speak English like a mother er. Holt had a firm rule we would not go over the cap and pay the luxury tax, forcing us to bribe Houston into taking Butler if we through in Scola.

    Larry Brown begged for Green...
Larry Brown - overrated, or at the very least his career was at a low period when he was with the Spurs.
Didn't Brown also have a hard-on for Paul Pressey? What a turd that guy was.

Not many recall that Smith was Pop's first big trade as GM.
I have a vague memory of a game sequence of Smith trying to score around the basket and getting stuffed about 5 times in a row.

That was when he was in New York, it was Game 5 of the 1993 ECF and any of those layups would have won the game for NYC.

    From wiki:

As a Knick, Smith is infamous for being blocked 4 straight times directly under the basket, despite his huge height advantage, as he attempted to give New York the lead in Game 5 of the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals against the Chicago Bulls. After taking a 2–0 series lead, the Knicks lost Games 3 & 4 in Chicago Stadium. With a chance to take a 3–2 series lead at Madison Square Garden, Smith's attempts were hampered by Michael Jordan, Horace Grant and Scottie Pippen in the final seconds, becoming one of the most notorious and disappointing moments in Knicks history. The Knicks then lost Game 6 and the series in Chicago to complete an epic collapse, while the Bulls moved on to defeat the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Finals and win their third consecutive championship. However, he was with the Knicks the following year when they defeated the Bulls (sans Michael Jordan) in the second round, but lost in the NBA Finals to the Houston Rockets

    Derrick Dial

Mark Bryant (5 fouls on Shaq!)

Cherokee Parks (5 more fouls on Shaq!)
remember when Dial lit up the other team for like 25 or some in garbage time?

    Jaren Jackson without a doubt!
    Doubt!
Without Jackson we don't ring for the 1st time. He was huge against the Lakers.
Yes, he crashed down to earth and then some the next year, but it was worth it.

Jerry West's face as his mighty Lakers are being taken down by Jaren Jackson - I can still see it.

I'd have been fine with Charles Smith being healthy enough to miss a layup when he was with the Spurs.

    My top three:

    1. Sidney Green
    2. Alfredrick Hughes
    3T. Nick Van Exel
    3T. Keith Bogans

I remember Jackson coming up huge from behind the three-point line during the 1999 playoff run. After winning a ring that year and getting his first decent contract, didnt Jackson come to camp 30 pounds heavier after the off-season?

    These three were simply disappointing:

Ime Udoka -- had high hope after stint in Portland
Derrick Anderson -- dude didn't really give a sh!t about SA
Jared Jackson -- after the 99 playoffs

    Rod Strickland
    Dennis Rodman
    Jefferson

Imagine what could have happened if each of those guys played up to their talent, not down to their weaknesses.

Van Exel was also terrible, but his body was done by the time he got here.

Yes - he whiffed on both of those guys. Making those moves was the beginning of the end.

    David Robinson
    Sean Elliott
    Willie Anderson
    Terry mings
    Rod Strickland
    Frank Brickowski
    David Wingate
    Johnny Moore
    Mike Mitc
    Caldwell Jones
    Zarko Paspalj
    Uwe Blab
    Reggie Williams

Man, that was a solid core.

Not only probably the worst Spur ever, but also the funniest NBA player name of all time, IMHO.

It's players like that that paved the way for D-Rob and Duncan to come to SA, though!

Yep, but they don't win a le without him, so he earned that contract before he ever showed up. Is it sad that he went Buster Douglas on the Spurs? Yeah, but it was money well spent.
