I guess they got panties too!?!?!?!
Man, is VY more of a deity in aUsTin that I'd thought?
that is one interpretation....coated in Crimson and Cream I might addMack and Vince both sound scared... with good reason.....but one that I disagree with. I think they are trying to diffuse the hype of all the media outlets and a lot of UT fans all of who are already chalking this in the win column for Texas. Fans and media think that all they want...as long as the players don't....Texas will be fine.
Vince Young wouldnt be scared if Freddy and Jason were hunting him down to charge him with federal weapons charges
I think it comes down to who controls the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. You have to remember, UT centers their offense around the ability to run the ball consistently, this is something we haven't done against ou in 5 years, and ou's defense is #3 nationally against the run this year. So, VY is going to HAVE to make throws down the field in order to open up the running game, hopefully add in a few well timed scrambles for running yardage. I also think you can throw out rankings coming into this game, ou knows they've owned us for five years now, they could care less that we're ranked #2 in the country, if anything it just gives them more incentive to hand us our ass.
IF UT can control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, establish a consistent running game, make some throws down the field, and limit AP's running production, things look good for us. We also HAVE to score more than 17 points, if we do we win, if not we lose. I think this will be a tight game going into 2nd half, with UT able to make some crucial plays down the stretch. Final score, UT-24/ou-13. And now I will officially begin to meditate and pray for a UT win!
OU is ranked #3 against the run but of the four teams they have played only one, K-State was top 25 in the country in rushing (no. 25) TCU-51st, Tulsa-62nd and UCLA-58th and they still lost two of those. Texas has gaudy offensive numbers and ran those up against LA-Lafayette, Rice and Mizzou, with OSU being the only quality opponent.
Numbers in this game mean absolutely nothing.
Personally I think this game is all above the neck. If Texas starts out strong, it will be over quick. If they screw around, get tense and make mistakes it will get hairy and be closer than need be. Texas needs to go in loose and carefree. If they don't score on the first drive....Davis and Brown need to stay out of the fetal position and work through it. The last few years, Texas would make a mistake and got into the mindset of "here we go again" and it was over. Last year was a great game but OU was just better. Texas has a chance for redemption. If they win, IMO they run the table....if they lose....they will be destined for Holiday, Cotton and Alamo Bowls for a long, long time.
Win or lose, they will probably win the Big 12 this year regardless, so that's the Fiesta Bowl.If they win, IMO they run the table....if they lose....they will be destined for Holiday, Cotton and Alamo Bowls for a long, long time.
Oh goody!!! I gotta get me some of those!!!
Marcus Bryant needs a pair...
wait, he doesnt root for any college team at all
Vince is probably wondering if he'll be able to throw more TDs than INTs this year vs. OU.
Good new for Texas fans... with one leg Adrian Peterson will probably only be able to rush for 190 yards...
this year perhaps...but the future will be bleak.Win or lose, they will probably win the Big 12 this year regardless, so that's the Fiesta Bowl.
Props to Scott.....you can tell the guy is loyal!![]()
Yeah, I think this game has a lot to do with the mental state of UT. And I would hope with big game wins against Michigan in the Rose Bowl and then beating Ohio State at home, coming back when down, would help UT's mental toughness. However, it's still a question of how they react to ou, will they go in loose and easy or will they get uptight if things don't immediately go their way? That's a big question mark with this game. In any case, it's still a huge game for UT, they win this one and I think they'll really be on a roll for the rest of the season, with the season ending game at a&m the biggest remaining obstacle to a MNC game. I gotta be honest, though, I'm 100x more nervous about this game than I was before Ohio State, we have got to get over this mental block agianst ou!
I have not one reservation about saturday
I'm looking forward to laying out an ass whooping
I know it will be a tough game, but no way Vince is gonna let them lose
I've got so much riding on this game

Everything's gonna be alright Mookie. Vince will have it together and everyone else will follow suit...
agreed.we have got to get over this mental block agianst ou!
I feel UT will win but if they cover the 13.5pts brisket & beers are on KDF @ the Falcons game!
Indeed he did have the mileage Scott..BUT, he never hit paydirt vs UT.
Scott, I respect you & you seem like a steadfast fan. Please tell me you know football is a team sport & that AP's injury won't be a cop out used by you. I've read so much online how ou fans are using this excuse BIG TIME.
Mr Dio, I will be here to take the criticism if my team loses. I am indeed a steadfast fan, so obviously I'm going to stick by my guys.
Bobby Stoops ain't scared...
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2181499"We'll go out and get after it like we always do," Stoops said. "I like the plan we've developed and feel like we match up with them better than people think we do."
A gentleman you are indeed.![]()
