THE issue:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Police in the suburban St. Paul area where a black man was shot and killed during a traffic stop have disproportionately arrested African-Americans, according to an analysis of data provided by the department that shows nearly half of the people arrested this year in the heavily white community were black.

The St. Anthony Police Department provided arrest and citation data in response to requests from The Associated Press and other media after the death of 32-year-old Philando Castile, who was shot several times by an officer in Falcon Heights last week. His death and other recent killings of black men by police around the country have renewed concerns about how law enforcement officers interact with minorities.

Castile's girlfriend, who streamed the aftermath of his July 6 shooting live on Facebook, said in her video that Castile was complying with the officer's request to provide ID when he was repeatedly shot. A lawyer for the officer has said Castile was considered a "possible match" for a suspect in a recent armed robbery.

Court records show he had been stopped or ticketed more than 50 times in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, but he had no serious criminal record.

Just 7 percent of residents are black in St. Anthony and neighboring Lauderdale and Falcon Heights, according to census data. The St. Anthony police data shows that nearly half of all arrests made by St. Anthony officers were of African-Americans in 2016

I understand your frustration but my point is a greater context point...I recognize the problems and acknowledge them but most of those problems are a direct result of systemic issues in our society that's been in place for decades.. I'm not a racist.. My wife is white! I don't hate white groups that promotes saving their own race. I get that an I feel the same about my own race. I love my race to much an wanna see us do better. I had a bad, horrible Life with no father. A mother with 6 kids tryna work her ass off. She's a Bishop an have her own church now.

I use to tell my wife "Your gonna find out what it is to be black through your mixed kids, especially your son". With all this stuff going on, I've walked in on her reading articles, watching videos on YouTube an Facebook about "White moms with black kids"... Some had mixed kids an some adopted fully black kids. She was naive about that kinda stuff at first. But after seeing an hearing other white moms stories, her ass is scared for the kids.

Yep, they were protesting the cops. And the cops were protecting them. They don't JUST protect the KKK. They protect everyone, whether they agree with their politics or not. That's the point of America. You have the right to say and do what you want, and so do the people who say and do you don't like.

Really? You should. I do. Growing up in Texas, I've seen those people up close. They're awful. They promote hate and fear. They're the roaches of humanity. They are the an hesis of what America is all about. Any racial group emulating their beliefs or tactics should be ashamed of themselves, IMO.

With all due respect, no, you don't. You have pride in who you are and where you come from. You want your people to do better, but not at the expense of other people. And that's what makes America great. You can be down, but you don't have to always be down. And there are millions of people, many of whom don't look anything like you, that want the same things for your race. I don't really know my racial heritage. Americans are my people, no matter what they look like. I want them all to be everything they are capable of being.

I can't even begin to imagine. While I don't think most cops are out to murder people, and I think their presence protects a lot of good people from a lot of bad people in just about any neighborhood, I understand in ways that I won't go into how dangerous interactions with police are. Constantly being in a situation where with no warning you can "match the description of a suspect" and be harassed would be terrifying. Having to teach my own children to prepare for that would be difficult. It would be really easy for me to say "rise above it" without any knowledge of just how difficult it is. I wish it were that easy.

Racism is a weapon of the media! They add fuel to fires by putting emphasis on the race of people when it's a multi colored crime, or police shooting. Then they only show the blacks that's acting silly after something has happened. I hate the media!
