the Jet, he crashed a while back.......
Was Scottie Pippen a bench player? Since you said that Kawhi would be a bench player without his defense...At least Terry said he isn't "really" a bench player...
Doesn't matter if Kawhi was
-90 percentile from every spot from the floor
-over 51-45-87 shooting
-one of the only two players in the whole league to make the top 10 of P&R ball handling, Isos & spotting-up PPP
-only Spurs' player to post an ORtg of 120+ since DRob in 1995-96
-the only DPOY with a higher Offensive Box +/- than Kawhi's 2015-16 was...Jordan's 1987
-only player in the top 10 for Off/Def Rtg last season
Like it or not, Kawhi is our franchise player now.
Being a franchise player doesn't mean he will win a ring with the Spurs. Nash, Barkley, Iverson, Ewing...never won a ring, Baylor lost 7 NBA Finals against the Celtics...But they were great, amazing players and "Alpha franchise" guys.
the Jet, he crashed a while back.......
Agree with you about the importance of counting stats for them, but it seems like Kawhi already gets a lot credit...
"He's a monster out there," Warriors center Andrew Bogut added. "He's their main go-to option offensively now and one of the best defenders in the league."
"We always talk about two-way players and how important it is, especially in the modern NBA, where you can't hide a guy at either end," Kerr said. "He's probably the best two-way player in the league now."
"He's tough, ready for any challenge," Iguodala said. "He has that compe iveness about him, which is really good. "You don't see that as much in new-age players. They're more concerned with their image or anything else surrounding the game. He's just all about playing ball, doesn't really care what's going on outside."
"Kawhi Leonard's got to be one of the top two, top three players in the league at both ends" Zach Randolph said "That kid is the silent assasin"
Clippers players, Paul, Griffins, JJ, they had nothing but kind words to say about Kawhi, the same with Wade, Butler...
I wouldn't say that Terry's borderline insanity is representative of the opinion of most current NBA players.
Well, Kawhi thinks the B is for Boss.
Don't get why Kawhi is still in SD but he bought that ticket like a boss...![]()

Thanks for proving the point
A-list player you count the number of times he get bailed out by a b-list player. That's the definition for me
Only on basketball forum it's more important to perform in 3 or 4 games rather than being consistently great all year and carry the team to these 3 or 4 games
Something I just saw on another board. What's your response kawhi stans?
"Kawhi is a colossal choker who has done nothing special whatsoever as a clear 1st option. One of the weakest finals MVP in history too.
2015:
Series vs Clippers tied 2-2, best of 3 to determine winner...Kawhi puts up 14 ppg on 30% FG in those 3 games...12.5 ppg on 29% FG in games 6 & 7, Spurs drop both and lose the series.
2016:
Against OKC...Game 1 blowout win...won't count it against him. But in games 2-6, he shot 8-22 FG in 4th quarters...36% FG, and just 1.6 baskets per 4th quarter. And it only gets worse the later in the quarter you go, the more critical the moment. 3 total field goals in the last 5 minutes of games 2-6 on 30% FG, and just ONE basket total in the last 2 minutes of games 2-6, 1-5 FG.
If literally any other top 10 player choked like he did they'd get absolutely shredded. But because it's Kawhi no one mentions it. Because something something RPM, +/- numbers."

Oh well, we should trade Kawhi for the unanimous MVP who scored a lot in the last minutes of the Finals, also, he made Kyrie life so hard...
Or trade him for Harden who is a true superstar according to Jason Terry...
These guys![]()
Harden has done nothing with the rockets. Terry was just dumb on this
Curry has been really clutch plenty of times. You have to use the few times he was not (and injured)
The point from the post I quoted is that Kawhi choked EVERY TIMES it mattered when he was the clear 1st option
Well, he shot .44 FG% .38 3P% in 2014 Finals, given his level of excellence, those aren't great numbers for him...
"But but he isn't clutchThe point from the post I quoted is that Kawhi choked EVERY TIMES it mattered when he was the clear 1st option![]()
"
Of course, Kawhi's playoffs performances had nothing to do with him having only 1 season as the 1st option -I wouldn't say that he was the clear 1st option in 2015 since Parker took more shots and had higher USG%- and Curry had 5 seasons being the guy...

No reading comprehension
No different than SAGirl, with your pathetic school girl crush
Obviously, they wouldn't have won in '14 without Leonard, but they didn't win because of him and he wasn't the best player on the team.
He was in '15 and '16, they failed and as the best player, he wears some of that, since it's not like they had no chance in either case no matter what he did.
He has the greatest gig in the league: Win and it's all him and Pop; lose and it's "the old guys" fault.
He's the Garnett of this era: He can be the best all around player on a championship team, but he can't be the standalone offensive centerpiece.
Leonard also won it while having virtually no creative offensive responsibility and not having a defense geared to stop him.
He deserved it because he was the best player in the final 3 games, but that was a team award if there ever was one.
Fine, many.
At this point, yes. But Kawhi's game is not yet fully developed, so we'll see. I'm not gonna let my opinion be a backlash to the player fans. I root for Kawhi to keep progressing.
No one cares about your ty takes.![]()
It's the nature if being a star to get criticized. Even Lebron, Durant, Westbrook got critics, in Lebrons case b4 he rang. His 2011 finals performance haunted him. Takes guts, growth and continued improvement to climb that hall. Heh Durant hasn't yet. Just his scoring is what he's hung his name on. He's choked a whole lot and deferred to Russ and,Russ has his own bad decision making to blame for his blunders and Harden is not in the level if these dudes. He is undeniably a gifted offensive player but is headed down a Carmelo Anthony path as a scorer that's not enough to get to the end all of the game.
I take my chances with Kiwi. He's 25 and a monster already. There's no telling what he's capable of in the next few seasons if healthy.
Oh lookie, another thread where multi-account gots are talking to themselves.
There are 2 sides of the court. Those 2 s never played D, much less DPOY D.
Kawhi just needs to get aggressive and be more of a leader. If he does, man, world, watch out.
Jason Terry should stick to being a declining basketball talent.
He really needs to just retire to be quite honest.
I think this is about fair.
Tbh, Terry helped to make Lebron look really bad in '11. For that he has a bit of a good spot in my book.

Sorry for unnecessary double post.
Hate to compliment anyone from the biggest assholes in NBA history but I have to give the devil its due and Klay Thompson just defended Kawhi from Puncher's stupid comments. "Kawhi Leonard is a ‘B-side player?’ Man, that man was a Finals MVP and one of the best two-way players in the game” Have to respect him for that, tbh.
Talking about assholes, Jalen Rose just said on ESPN he would pick Kawhi over Irving and others to build a team...
