Don't worry, Pop decided to call it a 'season' after game 1. ed to media about Kawhi injury, because he had absolutely no intention of playing him for the rest of the series. Pretty clear now.

ing . Should have realized that Pop was likely going to shut him down after that rant as it was his third ankle sprain in about a week. I guess that is why Pop went on that rant. Theycallmepro may be onto something there.

http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursna...ard-in-game-4/Pop says “it wouldn’t make much sense” to play Kawhi Leonard in Game 4
We did that already.
Its nit thwir shots, in fact their offense os the best part of thwir gane. They are both juat so stupid bb wise
He can play he should play no questions asked.
The worst possible thing would be to have him get hurt again, and wind up needing surgery. We know he works on his game in the offseason, and he's always come back better. Missing that would be bad enough. But if he was still recovering when training camp opens, it would be a disaster.
Taking a chance on that, to try and come back from being down 0-3 doesn't sound like a good idea. I would be shocked to see him play in Game 4. Especially if it's anything more than a cameo appearance to give the crowd a chance to cheer.
He won't play. Doesn't matter now. We are not pulling a Boston 2004..
I bet the FO has a pretty good idea already of whether they will be counting on Tony to be the starter.
Isiah Thomas injured his hip in mid-March. They sat him for 2 games. He re-aggravated it. Then re-aggravated it again during the playoffs. I just saw that he has a labral tear in his hip. A torn labrum won't heal, which means sooner or later he'll have to have it surgically repaired. I don't know when it tore, but continuing to play almost certainly made things worse.
It's not the same injury, but it's the same idea. Risking an injury that could require surgery would be one thing if it was 3-3 in the Finals, because you never know if/when you get another chance. But at 0-3 in the WCF, it's just not worth it. I think they'll sit him for Game 4. I hope they do, anyway.
Guys get ankle sprains all the time and play through it.
Good perspective.
Most of those guys aren't the entire future of their franchises.
But just out of curiosity, since you know all about it. How many of the guys you're talking about play through three injuries on the same ankle in a matter of a few days? No side-stepping bull - how many do you know about that roll the same ankle three times and jump right back into action?
Baseball is different anyway, there's a lot of variability and parity, no team is that much better than one another... look at the season records every year to confirm that.
NBA is the least parity sport in the world. There will never be a 3-0 comeback. Last season's two 3-1 comebacks in a row is the best you're ever going to see.
tbqh that's a foregone conclusion at this point
Yea like grant hill right ?
Yeah, the only way he comes back is if we take Games 4 and 5. And lets be real, that aint happening
Agreed. Let's make this game about Manu's last game and send him off right.
If it is meant to happen, its going to happen. It can happen in practice, You'll just never know.
No way Pop pulls a trigger and play Leonard when he was not able for game 3.
Let's win 2 without him and then we can talk![]()
Kobe would play
