Stop talking age. Id rather had vince last year than mills or tim over lamarcus, the oldest spur on the team was the best once kl went down. Age means little if you treat your body appropriately. Dumb posters here
Towns and Turner are longshots I agree, but at least Portis would only be 24 years old in 2 years. It's smart investing 15-20 mil per season on him compared to $30 mil per season, like some here wanted to do on Millsap at 32. That would've been a terrible investment. It took Millsap a few seasons to develop, and it's pure speculation on my part, but I don't see why Portis couldn't do the same in the Spurs program.

We'll see how he develops, but generally teams are loath to allow others to poach decent or better RFA's. They could very well match that, but I'd rather Millsap for 2/$38-39M (plus $8-9M what they'll pay Aldridge next season, $30M the second season and decline team option the third) a top 20 player the past 3 seasons, over a likely role player anyway.
Besides, Spurs can't attract 1st tier stars anyway (Aldridge was 2nd tier, a marriage of convenience and still seemingly had to be talked into it), so they'll have to take risks.
Well I guess the feelings mutual tholdren because anyone who wanted Millsap at 30 mil a season is dumb in my opinion.
Healthy Manu no way Memphis wins that series. And the chokers had to luck out eventually. To bad they didn't do with it.
The lost to the Grizz in 2011 was all about Pop being too smart to play Splitter. 2015 loss to the Clippers was about TP playing too much hero ball and missing that fast break layup on Red .
