Anyways, nothing to take from this article tbh...

Thanks Kori though! Good to "see" you and happy to learn you're all good.

So the Spurs denied his credential request to the Final Four or to a Spurs game? Tom James is a prick, but I think his credential denial maybe has more to do with, "you haven't covered the Spurs in a long time and now all of a sudden you want one?" The Spurs just don't have out credentials to anyone.

Also I would add I doubt he's going to find any new inside scoop about the Spurs on Final Four weekend. Just look at the national media with guys like Woj and how they haven't found out anything new regarding what's causing the strain between the Spurs and Kawhi under then briefly mentioning his uncle. In the next few months the truth is going to be revealed and quacks like Tom will no longer be able to come up with bs speculations.

I find the whole ¨family-like culture¨ to be kind of hypocrite, so he went for the annual photos and left just like that?

They didn't deny the others journalists though. (not counting Jeff McDonald and the SA ones...)

None of them could come up with anything.
Well, we have to wait for Woj to find out about player's only meeting, or Kawhi traveling to NY...

There's nothing but fluffing from the local media, tbh, and it really has to do with this stuff of being denied credentials... they're the only game in town.

I saw Dusty at a Spurs-Clippers playoff game about 5-6 years ago with his wife and a child or two.

We were happy (I think the Spurs swept) and he seemed to be doing well. (He was running an investment website -- I love Dusty, but hold on to your wallet.)

Then I saw Kawhi's entire family in the concourse of Staples Center after the game. It must have been them -- ten or fifteen men, women and children all with Kawhi jerseys on. Heck, one of them was probably Kawhi's uncle!

That timvp.com pic is hilarious. The Kawhi situation is so frustrating because of the lack of real info. I just wish Kawhi (or "his group" as Pop says) would have said months ago that he was too hurt and wouldn't be coming back this season. Everyone could have just accepted that and moved on. But instead it's just all speculation and rumor... he wants a bigger city, he wants a better shoe deal, he's just a China doll, he doesn't trust the Spurs medical staff, he was disrespected by someone in management, he's psychologically fragile, and so on. To me, sitting out (if he's not actually hurt) doesn't make any sense at all - no matter how much of a rift there is. That hurts his stock. So he must really feel that he's not physically ready to play. I just wish he'd come to games and support the team. Show up. He doesn't rehab all day every day, so there's no excuse not to come sit behind the bench for games.

Agreed. Lots of people get injured and can't play, as frustrating as that is. But his actions create more unnecessary drama that is turning to backlash against him.

I was on Kawhi's side until this . He knows exactly how this looks which tells me we'll likely never see him in a Spurs uniform again. Time to join Phoenix in Tank City next season.

I don't think he's sitting out only because he had a falling out with the Spurs - I think he's still hurting enough to not want to jeopardize his long-term future.
But I do think that if he was just hurt (and that there was no rift), he'd be sitting behind the bench cheering on his teammates.
Some articles have floated around reports that he is rehabbing in NY, working out at the NBA HQ facilities, etc...

Considering Kawhi's medical team is apparently based out of there (which just brings up another rift between Leonard and the Spurs FO, but I digress...), I can understand him not being behind the bench if he is truly putting in good time trying to rehab his injury and stay in basketball shape. It wouldn't be easy for him to keep up with a consistent program if he was hotel hopping and jumping planes every few days.

Unfortunately, we've heard absolutely nothing from Kawhi since he left, so no one really knows what exactly he is up to out there. If he's not working on a return (be it short-term or long-term), then he should be supporting his team.

Another angle: Kawhi is so frustrated by not being able to play that he doesn't want to be stuck on the bench watching games. But even that is not being a good team player or leader.

Side note: Why do a bunch of you call Kawhi "Kiwi"... that was Sean Marks' nickname?
    THANK YOU!

    1. This guy has followed Kawhi since he was at SDSU. He claims Kawhi has always had a good work ethic and believes he would play if he could. He gives an example of how Kawhi's college coach put the team through a grueling 3 hour practice on a Friday and then gave the team Saturday off. According to the writer other players went to the club on that Friday night while Kawhi stayed in the gym and practice.
Do you think the guy is lying about this? Kawhi's a gym-rat, every coach -Pop included- has said this.

    2..3...4...5..
I wonder why you didn't talk in those five about the issue with the medical staff

I think the real rift here is a loss of confidence between the Spurs doctors and Kawhi, which in any professional sports team is a pretty big deal. Especially if the Spurs plan to stick with that staff...
I've said the injury and the trusting-problem was the only real problem there. Since preseason I was posting about that. I thought it could be fixed but after Parker/Manu roasted him in public, it seems like it's broken.

Nothing is coincidence on a Pop's team. If the Spurs would want to keep Kawhi, Parker/Manu wouldn't have talked. At this point, a trade is pretty obvious.

If that's the worst thing that happened to Kawhi this season, he's sitting pretty taking $19 million.

While you think their words weren't shots at him, the rest of world -all NBA media, all former NBA players, all NBA fans- think the opposite.

Did I say this guy was lying about Kawhi's work ethic? I just listed facts about the article and you overreacted like the typical Kawhi fanboy you are.

Like I've said before you listed facts but forgot a big one. I wonder why. Just because him being injured doesn't fit into your narrative about his uncle?

    Whats up KORI,

the only good explanation is that Kawhi is hurt and won't talk because he knows he's medically disabled and won't get the MAX, wont get his shoe deal, won't get his desired FA deal, he'll never wear clean pants, so he sits and stews and hopes for good news from a pile of muscle and tendon he feels but cannot understand. While several spur stalk posters wipe his ass.

    Nah

Like it or not, there were many Spurs fans that thought Parker/Manu shouldnt have questioned him in public, it didn't help.

Their words just created more media-drama and this type of fans' reactions.

Just in case, I'm not this guy, either.
