3 assists to 5 turnovers is pretty laughable in a must-win game; and that's in addition to the 7-18 FG.

    That needs to get updated.
For Rubio? (They took away the lockout chip otherwise it's current)

Sure. Still pretty crazy that a team with 3 MVP's on their physical prime couldn't win a championship, tbh.

you meant his previous teammates but none except KD wre mvp caliber with him ...
Btw wont defend Russ butbon the Finals run ...it was harden who murdered Spurs in the backdoor sweep ...
    but...
Russ was the 2nd best player to LeBron in most of those finals game and that includes Harden who choked and solid supporting play by KD and Wade ...

There are several ways to fame and fortune in the NBA. Russ took the only way he could, self promotion at the cost of team success. He was even able to get his teammates to go along with it. He's a gimmick, a good player but a gimmick. He'll be remembered as someone who was a "fierce compe or" just because he sweats a lot and has that fake ass Kendrick Perkins scowl. He might one day get a ring, but it won't be until he's Dallas Mavericks level J-Kidd as a PG.

There's never been a more obvious stat padder to fool the media than RW, and that media loved every bit of it and knew all along it was a gimmick, but hey... what else is there besides the 8 year run of Lebron, the 2nd place KD and his antics of joining the enemy, and Kawhi Leonard who doesn't speak publicly? RW brought a new narrative, and they sold it to the ignorant public like Kim and Kanye sold the jewel heist.
This is a good take, I've often said the same type of , despite being a huge Russ fan..there are very few players in each era who will be remembered as champions + transcendent stars..the rest have to stand out in their own way..

As soon as Harden left OKC he started putting 25+ ppg, 7+rpg and 7+apg seasons while getting MVP votes. What does that tell you? That he wasn't an MVP player prior to that or that coming off the bench for OKC hurt his stats and status?

Crazy to think that if Harden would have stayed in OKC he would have got a lot less stats than Westbrook and 90% of the people would think Westbrook is by far the better player.

That's unfortunately what Manu will have to suffer for eternity with ignorant fans

WestCrook is Walmart Iverson, he's a step-up from Lance Stephenson.

Only thing I'd give harden over Manu is pure scoring ability and health..
Course that doesn't matter if you mentally fold every time the lights come on

So the question is do you take WB on the Spurs with all his flaws? I would with Pop as clear team alpha but any other coach? Idk

Iverson was the same, he just had a supporting cast that masked his flaws, played ty East compe ion and the league even fixed the Bucks series to get him in the Finals(it was worse than Lakers Kings)

Aldridge ball isn't winning ball either but do you imagine the abortion of a season we would have had without him?

Only player in NBA history to average a triple double in consecutive seasons.. you'll never see anything like that again for the rest of your life

Playoff success is largely based on supporting cast and coaching, tbh..Russ reminds me of what Jordan went through prior to Scottie and Phil..
He's part of the problem. He's like early 2000s Iverson. Very athletic and explosive as a scorer but low basketball IQ. He's not a smart player and it's hard to build a team around him. No one will want to play with him just like no one wanted to play with Iverson. He will put up great stats in his career but unless he changes his style, he won't ever have team success and it's probably too late night now.

of course he had potential to do more ...
its why Rox traded for him and why they offered hima big $ contract. i liked him a lot but like many on here thought Rox ovepaid him at the time.
All that being said all of his lack of opporunities at the time can not be placed solely on Russ. That team had Durant with high usage rate, Russ of course but even Ibaka and collison shot the ball more at the time ...and of course Brooks was a e coach.
the point being he played with two mvo talent level guys ...but to say Harden was that and Russ stopped him is a false narrative.
Did Russ stop him from putting a foot in yall ass in 2012?

BTw nobody is saying the OKC should win the le

But we are talking about round 1 with home court advantage

These 3 should be able to win 1 ing round

They are struggling to win 2 games in the playoffs

And Cancerchuck is getting assrammed by Ricky ing Rubio
