Trading everything for Kawhi would have made no sense with the risks involved and how difficult it would have been to build a real team around him. Agreed. I think him getting traded to Toronto is a blessing in disguise. He gets to show that he's still a top 5 player and rebuild his reputation. I highly doubt he stays. He is an option for the Lakers but not the end all (if he's not the player he was, the 2019 class is loaded).
I actually would love to poach Klay. Not as good a defender as Kiwi (he's no slouch tho) but he's a lights out shooter. Plus that breaks up the splash brothers. Nice death lineup to close quarters and games:
