New team rule. If you don't come into training camp with a six pack, you're off the team. You hear me, Patty?
Damn still mad. Lmfao!

Decent chance of it if you start the game thread![]()
I hope Pops starts him at PF and LMA at center. But he needs to knock those 3’s when Demar/LMA need to dish when double teamed.
Good one
He'll be 33 when the 2019-2020 season starts, and has surgery to repair a torn achilles in his medical records. There will be no last big contract. What he's making this year is probably his ceiling, salary wise. He's probably looking at a 3 year deal for about the salary he's making now.
I meant a multi year deal above the Vet Min. Something like 2 for 24 million. No max contract heading his way.
I'd be shocked if anyone paid him 12 on a multi year. He also picked a year with many top flight free agents, and they'll suck all of the air out of the room.
I can see us giving him a 3 year deal after this season giving him the most Early Bird rights allow for.
Any idea what that would look like? $9M/yr?
$57M/3 In other words: God I hope Fust is wrong.
Gotta have the flexibility and explosiveness and most important (Mental focus) to go along with all those muscles. Excited about what this season will bring. Rudy as our 3rd option is not too bad.
I thought only a 30% raise was allowed? Actually, that's completely wrong. Anyways, I was thinking more like 3/40.
When you sign a contract with early Bird rights, you can have the greater of the MLE or 175 percent the previous salary. In this case, that pumps his next salary to $17.7 Million. Then three years at eight-percent raises, and you get the rest of the contract. Check out Gay's contract in this Capulator scenario:

Since there's no chance of Gasol not being in the rotation, barring injury to him or Poeltl, the only way they could get to that lineup, would be to insert Walker into the rotation at Poeltl's expense.
Poeltl is not only a clear rotation player, but the optics would be bad if one of the pieces of a blockbuster, controversial trade, were on the deep bench.
I can see 1 with a partially guaranteed 2nd, so that he's aligned with Aldridge and DeRozan.
Possible replacements: M. Williams (for Gasol), T. Young, J. Green, Aminu.
This team is too deep. Wish we could trade Forbes and Gasol for a early 2nd rounder.
I hope his contract is a 2 year deal to align with mills. Consider Murray should be earning bigger money by then along with potyl (spelling) and white be up for an extension.
He didn't move well due to his injury last season. If he says he feels athletic again, I think his speed, mobility and "wing quickness" are there too.
I hope you are right![]()
Gay has matured as a player through the hard way. Current Rudy Gay has nothing to do with the young one. He understands the game and gives value to what really is important: winning. It's a shame he has ac ulated so many bad habits in defense. Now, he works hard to correct them but his body doesn't exactly help to that. Other than that, his overall game is solid and still has the ability to create his own shot or to make plays for others. Also, I definitely like his character.
I would love to see him healthy, fresh and explosive. I hope I'm wrong about his aging physical condition. Anyways, as I said, I'm happy with last season's Rudy playing the PF position on a 6th-man/clutch-time role a la Manu Ginobili.
Forbes probably isn't going to be an regular rotation player, neither is Walker, Metu, Cunningham and Pondexter.
I don't think that too much depth is an issue.
Laterally he was pretty slow, it showed on D, he got handsy instead of trying to move his feet to stay in front of his man.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Cunningham play consistently. He is not a bad player.
In general depth is a good thing but it can create some issueswhen you don't have a consistent rotation with guys getting bulk minutes. Our roster is filled with similarly talented players with different skill sets. Chemistry may be affected by a swiss army knife approach which appears to utilize our depth the best. Couple that with the fact our best 3 players are limited to midrange and post up skills mainly, there are definitely complications that practices and coaching will have to manage through. Will be interesting to see how the season pans out. I would pay to be in those practices and coach's meeting during the regular season.
