PLEASE! But if Pop is still running the show, I doubt it. But, PLEASE, still.
It’s an interesting question, what’s the best offer out there for DDR? Hard to get his market value given the year he’s having.

    - could he fetch Beal straight up? What if Spurs attach a pick?

    - could he fetch young prospect + filler + 1st? Like if the lakers strike out on AD, a lopsided trade into Laker’s space for Ingram + 1st

Derrick has definitely been improving as the season goes along. Too bad for him having to sit out the rodeo road trip. Having said that, if Pop considers him 2nd best on this years team then we are in trouble. I see a lot of upside potential for Derrick but.....! Pop and RC couldn't even get another team want to get within 1,000 miles of the Spurs before the trade deadline. We don't have anybody anyone else wants. We're stuck with Gasol's bloated contract. Pop is concentrating too much on his 2020 POTUS run and every time he does this team starts tanking. And I guess RC stays drunk all the time. All these young coaches are out coaching Pop. This team can look so discombobulated at times that it becomes a cluster . We have zero defense. The team needs to get focused in a bad way and Pop needs to get over himself.

He's actually the best player in the team. You cannot argue with his efficiency numbers.

The second best player? Unfortunately he's injured a lot. Rudy Gay, again you cannot argues against his efficiency numbers.

Aldridge and DeRozan take more shots but their efficiency isn't great.

What wins games in today's NBA is efficiency.

The Spurs this season are short defensive players that hopefully they sign in the offseason.

f Derrick White and Rudy Gay are our two best players we are in serious trouble. For one thing DW's efficiency numbers are way down the list at 32nd place among point guards. DD has the best efficiency numbers placing 5th among shooting guards. Rudy Gay is 8th among small forwards and LMA is 10th among F/C's.

Scoring wise RG has a 14.4 ppg avg. and DW has a 9.6 ppg avg. On the other hand DD has a 21.6 ppg avg and LMA has a 21 ppg avg. That's a combined difference of +18.6 ppg for DD & LMA. Rebounds and assists are way in favor of DD & LMA. If the Spurs were to put DD and LMA up for trade and RG and DW up for trade as well the combo of DD/LMA would draw a whole lot more interest from opposing coaches and GM's. I personally like both DW and RG and feel that they are an integral part of a team that has no direction. Another downer for DW and RG is they are both so damn injury prone. Anyway I get your point. On this we just have slightly different opinions which ain't no big deal. I definitely agree with you about needing defensive players badly. I had hoped for (with no confidence...lol) that PATFO would have been able to make some kind of trade to at least shake things up. We're stuck with Gasol and his fat contract.

DDR isn't even quite 30 yet, instead of trading him in the offseason (which we won't,) let's give the guy more than one season to be on a new team.

And you just know that they'll resign most of these guys when their contracts are up.

I loved how he handled the game in Dallas. Just let him run the offense in the clutch...He's way better option than the rest of team.

This may be right to continue current pace, but to come up a level and compete in the post season, Derrick is the teams MVP.

Agree but when Demar gets in the right position on certain plays he is so automatic. It should definitely default to White but sprinkle in Derozan every now and then and this team has so many options for closers at the end of games (Aldridge, Derozan, Gay, and now White).

Exactly. Have White quarterback and if he thinks DeRozan is in a good spot and with a mismatch, then send him the ball.

I don't think DeRozan is any good at reading the offense. What's worse is when they double DeRozan in the wings.

It is true, but when they are both playing well, this team is really hard to beat. Props to DD though. Pushing through that slump and coming out of it.
