Not sure who wants war besides Bolton. But if you are going to approve a military strike, either do it or don’t. This makes the US look weak.
That's a convenient position. R/T intel may have made it prudent to not to do a strike. But if you're worried about him looking weak, then you should want to get rid of the swamp monsters that would leak such info.

    That could be Trump himself.
He already outed Israeli assets to Russia.
And he has already bombed Syria.

Im laughing at people trying to turn this into something that makes sense.
Float the buoy, well he stopped the killing of 150 innocents... such BS excuses that we have some sort of competence in our president.

Oh look, he walked to the edge of the cliff, almost slipped, and then deftly walked back. Genius.

    Transparency bad now.

Instead of noticing Trump's incompetence Spurtacular blames leakers for making the president look bad.

“Trump negotiates by coming out with maximalist demands and

acting like the craziest guy in the room, and

then getting a deal that he deems acceptable and spinning it as the greatest deal ever,”

“There is no advantage to nobody knowing what your goals are and

    nobody believing you have goals,”

“There has to be a logic your counterparts can understand.

If you are giving them nothing,

there’s no way to get them to do what you want them to do.”

The chaos left even Trump’s allies and cheerleaders in the media confused.

In the hours after Trump called off the strikes, Tucker Carlson, a Fox News host who has advised the president on policy, praised him for resisting advisers who were “demanding a new war” with Iran.

The next day, Pete Hegseth, a host on “Fox & Friends,” the president’s favorite morning show, worried that Trump’s hesi#ta#tion would embolden Iran and make the United States “look weak.”

The president’s approach to Iran this week follows a pattern that could complicate the other foreign policy crises consuming the White House.

This spring Bolton suggested that Trump would be willing to use military force to drive Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro from power in favor of opposition leader Juan Guaidó, whom the president declared the legitimate leader of the country.

The growing realization that no one but Trump has a clear understanding of his policy or desired end state

makes it almost impossible for the rest of the government to function.

For allies in Europe or in Seoul, this confusion

“will just reinforce the belief that the only person that they should talk to in the [U.S. government] is the president,”

    This approach to policy

“will make working-level negotiations impossible, which will then make the next summit substance-less,” Cha said. “It’s a vicious circle.”

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/a-dangerous-confusion-at-the-heart-of-trumps-foreign-policy/2019/06/21/58449cba-9455-11e9-aadb-74e6b2b46f6a_story.html?utm_term=.6647d41793f8&wpi src=nl_most&wpmm=1

So Trash meeting Xi in a few days, with no "sherpas" having done any preliminary hard work, will be fruitless, barren, ing zilch, followed by Trash lying about huge success, how Xi folded to manly Macho Man Trash.

"Trump has a clear understanding of his policy or desired end state"

Trump Is Trapped by His Own Incoherent Iran Policy

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a faithful Trump stooge, sought to defend his decision, saying,

He has a long-term game plan here.”

For more than two years now, his Administration has been building up the pressure on Iran by withdrawing from the nuclear deal, employing aggressive rhetoric, and imposing ever-tighter economic sanctions.

“Now what we see is we are trapped

between the belligerent rhetoric of Trump towards Iran . . .

and the Donald Trump who said he didn’t want to get us into another war in the Middle East,”

“They are at a point of complete strategic incoherence.

They are saying they don’t want a war

but everything they are doing is making a war more likely.”

On Thursday night, Trump stepped back from the brink.

But the policy that got him into this mess is still firmly in place.

He could easily be playing to a warhawk faction, tbh. Good chance he never intended to strike.

The result is good, the process by which it was obtained does not inspire confidence in DJT's management of foreign policy, or that the danger has passed.

So he hired the Warhawk faction to play with them.

    Thats good.
    Good chance.

Can the excuses get any worse?

And if Trump is all in on a equal military response what should we do?

Carlson has been on point with his foreign policy opinions lately so that actually doesn’t bother me.
Pro Saudi opinion in any shape is not a good opinion if you actually believe that jihadism, Islamic extremism, and the actions of 9/11 are all evil. You're basically doing business with the mastermind who paid a pack of hitmen to kill your family.

As will Trump, because if he has to raise taxes to fund a full scale war he'll basically end up like Bush Sr in 1992.

He'll follow the GWB playbook and fund it off the books. For for a few years in the early/mid 2000s the GOP neither submitted nor passed any budget bill.

I never called the strike against Iran “BACK,” as people are incorrectly reporting,
I just stopped it from going forward at this time!

    ========

Trash the semanticist! Planes were not scrambled and in the air?

Trash ignores the $Bs and terrorism by Saudi Arabia's Wahhabis, who reports say have been terrorizing for decades

    Iran's oil? BigOil wants it.

    SA's oil? BigOil has it.

Repugs have destabilized and terrorized the M/E and the planet 100x worse the Muslim terrorists.

Trash's evidence that Iran was building nuke weapons? Working assumption is that Trash is LYING
