Well, it's sorta the way you love an ugly pound mutt. You'd much rather have a Golden Retriever, but you can't hate the mutt.
So then you were being facetious and you were lying. Ok, fair enough.Well, it's sorta the way you love an ugly pound mutt. You'd much rather have a Golden Retriever, but you can't hate the mutt.
You were insulting San Antonio then said you liked San Antonio. If you were "showing any love" you would not have said what you did.
Something I have said before. All the dude cares about is money and he won't get it here.Benson is playing us for fools. I bet he never planned to bring the saints here, he needs us till 2007 when he can move them to L.A. That's where the big payday is for Benson.
I don't care for the mayor. Or the government. Or anyone in support of looting the Saints.
Still a Spurs fan and still a Texan.
and those are fair points. Insulting the city itself though isn't neccessary. Hardberger deserves your venom.I don't care for the mayor. Or the government. Or anyone in support of looting the Saints.
If SA gets a team, cool. If not, cool. I mean, it's not like the city was washed away and all we have left is a ty NFL team to obsess about.
This statement would really upset someone who lost a lot in the Flood following Katrina.
These are the types of insensative statements San Antonio posters were making at SR.com.
thats why people started getting banned.
People on SR.com's family members died, and some of you joke about it over there, and then wonder why you guys get banned...
Show a little respect a little sensativity.
This isn't "SR.com" and I'll post what I want.
But you're right, a major disaster just occurred and you're worried about losing a freaking football team. Priorities, priorities...
No its not, and you are welcome to post what you want. It was an example of some of the reasons people started getting banned though, your right to say it does not make it any less insensitive.
We are worried about a football team.
A football team that is a vital part of our state economy, a football team that will bring much needed revenue to a destroyed area, a football team that provides jobs with high paid state tax payers, a football team that will bring in tourists to New Orleans from visiting teams fan base.
You are damn right priorities.
The State of Louisiana and the Gulf region NEEDS the team to stay to help with rebuilding.
You can try to justify the mayors efforts to move the team to San Antonio, and I dont blame you for wanting a team here, but Not this Team, not right now, Priorities indeed, this team should stay in New Orleans.
So it's not accurate to state that NO was "washed away"?
In the end, it's a football team and nothing more. If your local economy is based on a football team, well, that's pretty piss poor.
much of the city and its infrastructure was destroyed, many businesses left and currently the local encomy is in shambles as a result. The Football team would most certainly help the economy there, I am sorry if you feel its piss poor.
The city of New Orleans and the gulf south region needs a little help right now, i am honestly shocked at your callousness, but its your right.
By the way I am not from New Orleans nor was I affected by the hurricane personally, if i was, I am sure I would have had less patience with your rudeness than I have.
But again, its your right to have such an opinion. Thanks for helping me prove a point.
actually no, it is an economic tool that can be used to help rebuild a region devistated by the worst natural disaster to ever hit the United States.
besides Marcus, if the NFL New Orleans Saints are "just a football team"
What gives with your mayor's hard on to move them here?
Oddly enough, I do know some people who endured Katrina and I can tell you one thing, they don't give a damn about what happens with the Saints.
Actually that's a piss poor argument. It's entertainment and nothing more. There are a number of ways to revitalize NO and far down on the list, if at all, is retaining the Saints.
Sorry to burst your bubble about SR, but the bannings started more than 2 months ago. SR.com folks were the ones carrying on and pissing people off. If one happened to be from SA, they got jumped badly.
Not everyone affected by the storm will care what happens to the team, but that does not change the economic impact the team does and can have on a region.
Actually during contract negoiations with the state and an economic impact study was comissioned.
I would be glad to hunt down the results for you and post a link here if you like to read it, but long story short,
The New Orleans Saints have a very large impact on the gulf south region economically. This posative impact is STONGLY needed during a difficult time of trying to rebuild New Orleans.
For that reason alone, not to mention the emotional reasons, the Team Needs to Stay in New Orleans, to Help rebuild the area after the disaster.
It does not matter who wants them here or who does not, its a simple mathmatical fact that the Team staying in New Orleans will be a fiscal assistance to the rebuilding of the region.
I hope the Saints leave to L.A. and the Hornets stay in OKC b/c the local Lousyanna government sucks
I was refering to the only situation I am aware of, the banning of the fellow with the saints2006 website. I believe he feels he was recently banned unfairly from SR.com.
But I can honestly tell you the Mods here give you guys a lot more la ude than the Mods at SR.com. The Terms of Service are different, it is a different site. I do not know of the specifics of the bannings, but I am sure that they would be used to an etirely different set of rules here and come to SR.com and not read the TOS there and get banned rather quickly and not understand why.
Of course we would be defensive of anyone advicating moving the saints from New Orleans, and I am sorry if we felt it would be ethically wrong of your city to LOBBY to move the Saints from New Orleans, thats what I saw people getting upset about, It happened to a lot of people that did not live in SA and not everyone thats from SA expressed that point of view.
Why shouldn't we try to utilyze everything on the list? the saints have a big impact. Its a fact. Every little bit helps. Entertainment brings money. Money helps us rebuild.
The Lousyanna government is indeed horrible, but why wish for the Louisiana people to suffer?
because they dissin' my homies on SR.com
