Because the second best player on any championship team is truly all star level.
But my point is still a good one. Take away Manu and Duncan still has all star Parker.
What's the excuse to not ring?

That's what I was thinking.
But maybe he doesn't get to that finals w/o Duncan; so I didn't push it.
Just...wow
Why wouldn't a Manu led Pistons get to the finals, if they got there without him?

Matt Bonner (I think I like him even more working the media side which helps him for this list. Lol)
can’t forget Boris Diaw. One of the more colorful and skilled Spurs players.
great list and explanations but Tiago is Brazilian.
I thought you meant against same team minus Duncan against the Pistons. Yea, I could see a Manu-led Pistons team raking.
Thanks. I mistook him for a Spaniard having played for Spain for the longest time, and even became a naturalized citizen.![]()
Manu was the leader of the Argentinian team who beat an All-Star NBA National team, with Duncan. Are you kidding me?
I think any team with Manu, and Tony for that matter, will be very dangerous. Both are consummate, fearless winners.

You and Chinook need to get together and go bowling.
You still have 5 spots left, get Matt Bonner and Jeff Ayers in there.
Add them + TOSB David west, Pau Gasol and Antonio Mcdysse
Wingate and Neal to complete the train![]()
1. Manu Ginobili
2. Tim Duncan
3. David Robinson
4. Newphew
5. George Gervin
6. Sean Elliott
7. Boris Diaw
8. Tony Parker
9. Robert Horry
10. Alvin Robertson
By the way, this list reflects who my favorite Spurs were, not a ranking of who I thought were the better players. Tim Duncan was undoubtedly the greatest Spur. I think an argument can be made for Manu to be # 2 behind Duncan but David Robinson had more responsibility, stature and love for the City. He carried the franchise for 10 years before Tim put the team over the top.
Honorable Mention goes out to:
* Bruce Bowen, Malik Rose, Dennis Rodman, Mike Mitc , Jaren Jackson, & Mario Elie

1. Duncan, Manu, Robinson
Pretty close there. I go back and forth between Manu and Robinson.
I've a soft spot for David. He didn't always have the best supporting cast and often mis-utilized.
It still sad how that team from his rookie year loaded with talent fell apart due to injuries, bad behavior and poor management
4. Ice Tony and Silas
Tony remains underappreciated. Silas pre-injuries was awesome
7. Sean
8. Avery, Pualtz, Bowen
I'm always fond of players who did a lot without a lot.
Hon Mention
Mills, Diaw, Robertson, Kenon, Nephew
so is there any argument that LMA isn't the third best big for the franchise? His reign as a top player was short but he came in his prime and kept the team afloat. Below him are le role players like tiago, diaw, bonner, nestorovic. Above him are the big 2 career bigs.
by default guards usually get liked more for their ball handling and recency bias works against LMA (hard to feel bad he's gone because he overstayed his prime) but 4 years from now when the spurs have chewed through a few young prospects while peortle has up and down games, i expect LMA to rise in fan appreciation.
