Slow down.
Lot of games left to play.
Including SEC Championship.
You do know this is the 1st year of 12 team playoffs?

If BYU converts this fire Dillingham immediately. Most pussy playcalling I've ever seen tbh.
So lets recap
They turned the sport upside down and ruined almost every redeeming quality in exchange for... some crappy Playoff games.
Ouch.
"....ESPN’s coverage of the 2025-26 Bowl Season delivered substantial year‑over‑year gains across non‑College Football Playoff (CFP) games, highlighted by record highs, multi‑year bests and two of the most‑watched non‑CFP/New Year’s Six bowls in recent years..."

Looks like no.
Right? Make the playoff at least 16 teams with no byes, tell Notre Dame to go themselves and that part will be fine.
It's the player money that's going to destroy college football. I imagine there will end up being multiple divisions based on differing salary cap levels, probably including one with no limits.
It will be gloriously stupid.
No doubt in my mind there'll be a day when the B1G and the SEC combine forces to ditch the NCAA and make their own super league.
They don't agree on much at the moment, I know the B1G is trying to keep up this facade that they're an academically superior conference to everyone else, but I think big TV will help facilitate the merger and force Notre Dame's hand if they're in or out.
They'll annex a few more power schools like Clemson, Florida State and Miami, maybe at this point Tech (maybe) and have nice round numbers for the north and south.
Just a hunch.
We'll see who the power teams are in the next two seasons. Realignment will most likely depend on who spends the most consistently. The P2 will tell several of its current teams to get bent.
