    well Lonnie was a 19th pick not number 1,
    That said he's still made over 20 million in his career
    Of which he has probably seen less than 10 million. Let's say for giggles that is $2,000,000 per year just the federal on 2 million is 750k. Now that he's with the Lakers instead of taxes he has state income tax which is also over 100k, and his agents fee, and then you're thinking that I have 2 million dollars and spending that 2 million when you really only "have 1 million then turn around and it is gone"

    He was most recently with Brooklyn but similar state tax as LA. Just before he left for LA he bought a modest starter home in SA for like 500k. The NBA has solid resources for young fellas to manage their finances these days. I recall watching a podcast where JJ Red said he seldom sees young players go broke these days. Jonathan Simmons got AI money for 4 years.
