    Nope

I used that word bc I mean it, Tre has an above average IQ, he's lmited in terms of size and talent and knows it. He's not letting his ego try difficult stuff and focuses on (easier) stuff he knows he can do well. Hence him not trying much lob passes or having the lowest % of passes below the FT among all starting PG (Ask Timvip for the reference, he brought that info in his post season players analysis)

As I said multiple times, Tre is an overachiever, it's highly respectable and admirable

You're just being super sensitive and defensive for whatever reason (how old are you?) and go to the classic ad hominem technic vs whoever has a diff opinion than yours.

It's not flattering mate, you can do better
You said Tre focuses on “easier stuff he knows he can do” and then you call him overachiever. Bruh, which one is it? You are full of contradictions.

Then you accuse me of resolving to ad hominem, but then call me over sensitive, defensive. Seriously…

I merely said Tre has one of the best assist/TO ratio. The guy rarely makes mistakes, a good soldier. He’s not a starter, but as a backup? Tre is pretty solid.

If Tre Jones gets back up PG minutes over Castle in the regular season, Pop needs to be fired. Jones has ONE year left on his deal. That’s it. He is very clearly NOT a part of our future. Castle is supposedly a HUGE part of our future. It makes zero (and KA means ZERO) sense to not give Castle minutes to develop as a back up PG in favor of Jones.

Pop wants Castle on the bench. Fine. He wants CP3 as our starting PG. fine again. But a line (for the good of the franchise) needs to be drawn with Castle being behind Jones on the PG depth chart.
i imagine castle will spend some time playing different positions, including point guard. for all we know his NBA future might be at SG. think he spends time playing in a few different spots. sometimes alongside paul/tre, sometimes as the lead guard.

    Yep.

Saw Minix in person in the Summer League.

He can shoot and, surprisingly, also does a little bit of everything else.

He looks like he should be slow, but he moves smoothly and efficiently.

He generally stays in front of his man on D even if his man is smaller. His length then becomes an asset on D.

He moves well without the ball, passes well and is a physical rebounder.

He can also shoot from mid-range as well as three.

It's still early, but he looks pretty good (and he did in Summer League).

He can’t shoot the ball. Why would he play SG? Imagine the spacing between Jones and Castle. The paint will be packed. It takes away every single one of his advantages playing him at SG alongside Jones.

This moving Castle around bull needs to stop too. It’s why our players take ing forever to develop vs the ones we actually give a clear defined role to. Just put him at PG. It’s a ridiculously hard position to learn. He won’t learn it by being SG or SF. It’s going to take him 4 years to learn how to play the position anyways. Why waste a year of his development by moving him all around? Get him settled. Make him know his role early. Don’t change his role. Don’t move his role to another position. And don’t play a back up PG over our #4 pick in the draft who we selected to become our point guard.

Minix is my sleeper primarily because of his range. The guy can shoot and score multiple ways. I liked Branham offensive upsides, but he gets lazy sometimes, nonchalant as Pop puts it.

i likened him to pacers lance stephenson as a prospect, who had a decent amount of ballhandling/playmaking duties without necessarily being the lead guard or a great shooter. could also look at other players with a similar mold. tyreke evans, jimmy butler, iguodala. its not an unheard of archetype. if he pulls off the PG thing, thats obviously great. but theres still an open question of where he will actually find NBA success

i dont mind them figuring out where he's most comfortable or effective. maybe throwing him all the pressure and responsibility of being purely a PG from day 1 overwhelms him.

We could use another Matt Bonner
    Minix isn't another Matt Bonner.

    Bonner's legs were birdlike twigs.

Minix has a much bigger base -- his legs more like tree trunks.

Minix seems like a poor man's Dalton Knecht (who, concededly, is a poor man's someone else).

Don’t waste your breath. Pauleta loves to hold his ground, throw random stats out that he can’t backup, then force you to prove the contrary. Then when all things fail, flail and go on a rant and accuse you of being a teenager, when it’s clear he draws his analysis from tiktokers because it’s the same crap.

    - Focusing on (easier) stuff u know u can do well IS a sign of high IQ, it makes him reliable on some specific aspects of the game. He's an overachiever because he plays in the NBA for +5 years which is above average for a guy with limited skills. There's no contradiction.

    - I "accuse" you of going ad hominem, because your only objection to my post was : "you're a hater".

    - I already argued with facts on the assit/TO ratio and the "good soldier who doesn't make mistakes" (only ppl trying stuff make mistakes btw fit with how I described him, he at best doesn't move the needle.

We can agree to disagree but we don't need to dismiss each other's pov with "you're a hater" or "you're an idiot", it's weak and pointless.

Branham needs to off to the Filipino League with Jeff Errors, especially if Minix keeps his shooting up. If Minix can play even serviceable D, I'd be fine with giving him a contract and letting him compete for minutes at the backup F spot. Course it's just one preseason game...

PATFO needs to make a decision in the coming weeks regarding those 2

It makes sense to give them PT in the first games

I want Castle to focus and develop only the PG skills/role

Branham might be my least favorite Spur right now. At least Blake plays defense. Malaki can’t even be a good spark off the bench cause he bricks everything.

That’s why I find the “lol dillingham doesn’t play defense” talk so nonsense cause what does Malaki do for our defense that is even remotely acceptable?

Branham wasn’t picked in the top 10. He was a flyer at #20. You want a bit more up front out of #8.

I can only think of PATFO making a harder look on those two. Right now I’m leaning on Minix as having the dawg over Malaki.
