.DISCUSSION...
STARTING THE MORNING OFF WITH AN INVERTED TROF OVER THE COASTAL
PLAINS, THE DRY LINE FROM DEL RIO TO DALLAS AND A COLD FRONT IN
THE PANHANDLE. WEST WINDS IN THE BOUNDARY LAYER WILL BRING TEMPS TO
THE 70S AGAIN BEFORE THE COLD FRONT ARRIVES AROUND SUNSET. THE
NEXT AIRMASS IS COLD AND DRY BRINGING MORNING LOW BACK DOWN TO
SEASONAL NORMALS. THE SURFACE HIGH CCENTERWILL SETTLE OVER TEXAS
THURSDAY NIGHT. A WAVE WILL DEVELOP ON THE COLD FRONT IN THE GULF
PRODUCING LIGHT SHOWERS AND RAIN IN OUR AREA FRIDAY NIGHT AND
SATURDAY. AS THIS WAVE MOVES EAST ANOTHER STRONGER SURFACE HIGH
MOVES OUT OF THE POLAR REGION AND SLIDES SOUTH INTO TEXAS FOR A
COLD START TO WINTER. THE SPLIT FLOW PATTERN ALOFT WILL SEND
VIGOROUS SHORT WAVE TROFS ACROSS THE STATE TODAY, SATURDAY AND
TUESDAY. WITH THE BOUNDARY LAYER GETTING COLDER AND COLDER, THE
PRECIP IS EXPECTED TO TURN INTO A MIXED BAG OF FREEZING RAIN AND
SLEET FOR A FEW HOURS TUESDAY MORNING IN THE HILL COUNTRY.
DEPENDING ON HOW THIS WEATHER SCENARIO DEVELOPS, THE WINTRY MIX
COULD SPREAD FARTHER SOUTH INTO THE ESCARPMENT REGION, AND MAY
BECOME SNOW.

I always liked that term, "wintry mix". Sounds like something you'd snack on after a day on the slopes.
I can't even see through all this rain, coldness, and lack humidity and heat.

A Well Defined Upper Disturbance Will Weaken As It Moves Into A
Confluent Flow Pattern Aloft Over Tx. Thus Moisture Levels Will Be
High In Most Layers Of The Atmosphere For Friday And Saturday.
Cool Surface Air Trapped Under This Zonal Flow Aloft Will Mean
Continued Cold Air, And The Trends Suggest That We Should Stay On
The Cool Side Of Guidance Temps. This Becomes More Dramatic Over
The Weekend With The 12z Gfs Showing A Warming Trend That Doesn`t
Fit Well With The Overrunning Pattern.
A Larger Snow Event Remains Possible Early Next Week With An
Omega Block Pattern Forcing Canadian Air Into The Central And
Southern Plains. This Is Downplayed By The Later Runs Of The Gfs
Through The Warming Trend, But The Cooler Dgex Shows A Similar
Storm System As The Gfs But With Colder Air. Ensemble Means Also
Support The Cooler Mins. Thus Will Keep Mention Of Snow Tuesday
And Wednesday And Follow The Gfs Interpretation That The Winter
Precip Type Would Be Snow If It Happens.
I like black ice more than snow.. cause the city kinda shuts down and everyone appreciates life more while frozen and buys more game products.
Be thankful...we have had wet snow up here in Michigan all day. There is like 1 inch of liquid snow on the roads.
