he was just votes away from makin it
but i DO think he will get selected by avery both he and parker
but maybe im just a wishful thinker
    He is far from Nash.
It's not Avery who will select the bench players but all the coaches.
It's unlikely that Manu will be selected this year. (too much injuries)
For parker, finger crossed : he deserves it but he isn't a lock.

True. I don't get why people keep saying Manu was close. Nash had him more than doubled up. He wasn't close at all.

I see the Spurs getting at least two All-Stars after 2 les in the last 3 years. I would bet on Tony if there was a vBookie.

my ohh my there are still a lot of potentials in the West

    just for forward position:
    KG
    Marion
    Dirk
    Pau
Swap Pau with Brand and name Pau as backup center.

Carmelo is getting jobbed, but oh well. He's not better than any single player mentioned, nor had the impact.

If someone of the starters or reserves sits out, then I see Carmelo being named.

I'd make Parker and Ray Allen the two guards with either Davis or Richardson being the injury replacement.

Too bad they always play so sloppy at all stars. It looks so good on paper and then I watch and sigh

i hate china now, yao doesn't desevre to even be on the roster, and tmac has been injured to much to even be in the starting lineup, this is why fans shouldn't be allowed to vote anymore

well after all speculation that he wasnt gonna start, turns out hes gonna start after all, way to go Timmy.

im suprised TMac is startin over KG
No surprises here, if you've been looking at the voting. I think it's a disservice to the West list T-Mac as a forward and not a guard because T-Mac should a reserve, and KG should be starting. If it's not T-Mac, then Ray Allen's probably the best shooting guard out west in terms of the individual players. He doesn't deserve it this season over the forwards like Pau Gasol, Elton Brand, and Shawn Marion. That extra forward spot would come closer to assuring all of them make it.

This is exactly how I thought the voting would go down as soon as I saw the ballot. I expect Tony Parker to be named as a reserve for the West, Billups, Hamilton, and Ben Wallace to be named in the East.

The best (by coaches decision) of those 7 guys selected to the bench will be the starter. Someone who replace jarmaine will be on the bench probably (coaches decision)

if only Yao's not voted as starter on center we could have Tim playing center then include KG, Brand, & Dirk as forwards in the West.

but you just can't stop the billion people from China to vote for their idol. then, snubbing Yao when Houston's hosting this event.

well, good luck to Tony Parker.

and Billups, too! they deserve the All-Star recognition

BTW, Pops said he'll try to talk to AJ to give Tim limited minutes in the All-Star game(again).

    his exact words were:

Popovich doesn't have any worries about Johnson trying to tire Duncan in the game.

Johnson "knows I know where he lives," Popovich said, laughing, "so he won't try to overplay Timmy."

he always has a chance to make it, like yao ming, manu has 2 countries voting for him(Argentina/USA)
here we are 33 million people. minus than a quarter have Internet, and even I forgot to vote!!

No chances, most of the votes comes from elsewhere than Arg. This year Manu is getting less attention than past year...

As Brent Barry put it, Manu gets injured getting out of the car these days. If he went to All-Star weekend, he would probably get temporarily blinded by a flashbulb or something.

    Tony deserves over Manu...

And I still think Manu needs to rest and get heal of all of his injuries... All Star is just Circus...

    Playoffs is the real deal...

It's fan voting. Medals have nothing to do with it.

I think he was poking fun at wolves009 ... and his insistance that an Olympic Gold Medal is >>>>>>>>>> 2 Regular Season MVP's, 3 NBA Championships & 3 Finals MVP's. Therefore KG >>>>>>>> TD.

    WTG, Timmy!

Just like team USA in the Olympics.

Manu is not gonna be an allstar, he didn't play as much. There's too many good players in the West. Parker deserves it and he will be there. Or else Dough Collins won't be attending.
