Put them to sleep one hour earlier, the night of the change. After that, it shouldn't effect anyone. It's completely psychological.

You can put them to bed earlier, but they sure as heck won't sleep earlier. Good luck with that, though

Don't you have to put them to bed early on other nights for a variety of reasons? (trips, appointments, etc)

I have a lot of experience handling kids and I've never had an issue over moving the bedtime one hour earlier for a night.

No. They go to bed at 7:30 every night. They're tired by then. But, when we set the clocks ahead to 7:30 and their bodies think it's only 6:30... they're not tired and not ready to settle down yet. So, they stay up (usually even later that usual, since kids tend to overcompensate), and then when they have to get up earlier than usual in the morning, everybody's grumpy.

Ugh. Sleeping in and being a couch potato is much better.

Sleeping in is good, but there is so much you can do when you have more daylight.

the only difference the time change causes me is at work, I normally got by the time it gets dark to start shutting down things. Well on monday when it got dark I went to start shutting down, and I realized that I was an hour behind schedule. The store didnt look as good, but we still got out on time. Thats normally the only way the time change affects me.

I have been a sleepy head since I was born... I don't know how many times I have mentioned this but just in case someone doesn't know, my Mom says that when I was a baby she had to literally wake me up to feed me because I was always asleep.
