Don't say that... I'm sure Midge is just teasing about wearing SAS shoes.

I'm really suprised there aren't more people in here pimping New Balance. I can't stand the quality of Nike shoes and I don't mind Adiddas but they aren't as comfortable. New Balance just makes the best shoes by far for me. I also have a wider foot than average, however, and New Balance makes sizes with larger widths as well.

New Balance definitely for walking and running for me.

Actually, for basketball, Nike is one of the better ones out there for comfort. The cushioning goes away quick, but not bad at all.

I use Adidas for cleats (football and soccer).

I exclusively buy adidas sporting apparrel and shoes. I think I could be more comfortable in New Balance walking shoes, but Adidas shoes are so much more cooler than everything else on the market. Plus, they have the best sponsors (read: Tim Duncan and Stephen Jackson but you might be surprised to know Beno and Nazr as well).

These should be at my doorstep tommorow.

I've found that Nike is the best brand for basketball. Nikes last forever and are the most comfortable. I've tried all other brands but nothing else is close. Adidas are too narrow, New Balance, Puma and Fila fall apart and Reebok just don't fit right.

I think adidas shoes look pretty nice and New Balance shoes are good for walking around in, but nothing beats Nike for a shoe that fits and will last a long time. I actually have some Nike basketball shoes that I bought in 2000 that I've logged thousands of games in and I sometimes still play in. Every other brand of shoe has about a six month life span tops.

Adidas sprain your ankles and/or give you plantar faciitis. Tim Duncan was Cal Ripkin III before he put on adidas.

Tim Duncan is the same now as he ever was before, maybe better.

He just is trying to be more of a team player now so he completely took out all of his post moves when he gets the ball.

Actually, I do think Addidas are horrible as far as functionality goes. I've never sprained my ankles as much as I did when I started wearing Addidas.

The best shoes every made for basketball were the origional Paytons with the zippers. Holy it was flat out impossible to sprain your ankle in those things.

Years I've worn Adidas playing basketball: 3

    Ankle Sprains: 0

It's all up to the individual.

I love NB's basketball shoes, but they don't really market them. I guess it's more a word of mouth-type deal.

Various pairs of their running shoes have lasted me through entire x-country seasons (around ~1k miles), during some of the worst conditions (torential downpours), and were still the same, albeit with less tread, for years afterward. I have never found a shoe as comfortable, as light, and at the same time as sturdy as NB. I guess you don't realize the value until you are running over rocks and holes in a hard rain for miles on end.

Nevermind the fact that they are perfect for everyday use, and last perhaps longer than you want to wear them.

If you are looking for some really comfortable bball shoes with plenty of support, check out the NB line. There's only a few models, but you will never look for another shoe again.

The best shoe in the world means nothing without a quality pair of socks.

    I currently run in Saucony.

Saucony are the best running shoes right now.

I switched from New Balance and will not go back.
